BIG ANNOUNCEMENT CONTINUED: UA Director of Athletics Mal Moore said this in the statement: "This is a situation that developed late this week and we are actively investigating. These suspensions are a measure aimed at dealing with the facts as we know them at this time. While I cannot discuss the situation in great detail, I can assure you we will address it fully when we have completed this inquiry."

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Media Relations just handed out an announcement that five UA players are suspended for today's game. The suspended players are: Antoine Caldwell, Glen Coffee, Marlon Davis, Marquis Johnson and Chris Rogers. The reason listed for the suspension is a "violation of institutional policy involving impermissible receipt of textbooks." The infraction was discovered on Thursday and an inquiry was initiated. The players were informed of their suspensions on Friday upon the initial results of the inquiry. The University is still in a fact-finding phase and will release further details when the inquiry is completed. |

Is the player suspension legit or is someone stirring the pot. Geeez, 2 of those players are really impact players. Well if we thought we had a chance you can hang it up now. Oline and one of the best DBs out. Great, just great!

According to UA reps this is a pre-emptive action as the investigation continues into possible misconduct by the players with their textbook allowances. |
