And Matthes strikes out to end the inning.

Two runs on three hits with three left on base.

8-1, Alabama as we head to the bottom of the sixth.

So earlier I mentioned how it was odd how they played "Ice, Ice Baby".

Well, over the past three innings they've played two Micheal Jackson songs and another song I didn't recognize but could tell was straight from the 80's by the sound of it.

What's next?

I'm hoping for either "Long Tall Sally" by Little Richard or "Only Wanna Be With You" by Hootie and the Blowfish (since they are my favorite band and all).

One, two, three for Howell.

So far, through six his line reads:

6 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 6 K, 4 BB.

And we have our fifth Kentucky pitcher of the night, RHP Scott Green. None have been effective so far. My feeling is Green will follow down the same path.

And right on Cue, Green plunks Odle. Smith now up with no outs.

Tonight's attendance should be announced shortly. My guess is in the 10 to 11 thousand range. Great crowd on a great night to watch some SEC baseball.

Alex Kubal just bunted the ball off his left thigh, right above the kneecap...took him a few seconds to shake off...and Green just plunked him on his hip.

So in the span of a couple of minutes Kubal got hit on the thigh and then the hip. I imagine both those spots will be a dark shade of purple tommorow.

11,519 (11,000 of which I'd say are Bama fans).

And that does it for Howell. A single by Ryan Wilkes and a double by Sawyer Carroll did Howell in.

He leaves the game with the following line:

6 1/3 IP, 1 R, 7 H, 6 K, 4 BB, 121 pitches.

Wells opted for RHP Casey Kebodeaux in relief. Second time tonight UK has threatened. Let's see if Kebodeaux can shut the door.

Tense moment here. Kebodeaux just walked Collin Cowgill to load the bases with switch hitter Brian Spear due up.
