Probably close to a 10 o'clock start. |

Heading to the 8th, the Rebels still lead 3-1.
There's a large number of Alabama fans, waiting patiently, for the Crimson Tide to take the field. |

Just a few minutes away now...
Georgia is the visiting team, wearing black shirts and white pants with white hats featuring a red bill. Alabama is the home team, wearing white, sleeveless shirts with the "Script A" logo on the middle left and crimson shirts underneath, white pants and crimson hats. Austin Hyatt is almost done warming up...time to play ball. |

Hyatt retired Peisel and Olson fairly easily for the first two outs, needing only six pitches.
However, he walked Gordon Beckham (who later stole second). Bryce Massarini followed with a hit down the third base line that had just enough on it to get by Jake Smith, allowing Beckham to score. 1-0 UGA as Rutledge leads off the bottom of the 1st. |

Rutledge walked to lead off the inning and moved to third on a Ross Wilson double (a double that came via either clever or reckless base running).
Avila walked on four pitches loading them up for Brandon May. |

After May struck out, Matt Bentley hit a fairly deep fly ball to right field, scoring Rutledge on a sacrifice fly and allowing Wilson to advance to third.
Kent Matthes flies out to left to end the inning. Alabama had the bases loaded with no outs, but managed only one run. 1-1 after one inning. |

After giving the crowd ample time to file in, I would say it's a respectable, but not great crowd.
Maybe yesterday's slow moving affair, which lasted a total of almost 16 hours from start to finish, kept some people away. Overall, Alabama has a clear cut home advantage today against the Dawgs...at least 75-80 percent of the crowd are in favor of the Crimson Tide. |

1,2,3 for Hyatt in the top of the second.
1-1 still as we head to the bottom of the second. |

One, two, three for UGA as well.
1-1 as we await the top of the third. |

And the sprinklers are on...
As Hyatt was about to throw his first pitch of the inning the sprinklers along the third base line just popped up and came on. It only lasted for about only 10 seconds, however a few media scribes noted how "anything and everything to make this tournament longer is happening, all we need is rain." Rain....hmmmmmm....stay tuned |

Five-star prospect |
Other than the walk to Beckham in the first, Hyatt has looked very sharp.
He just mowed down three more Bulldog batters. 1-1 as we head to the bottom of the third with Rutledge leading off. |

|
|
Five-star prospect |
2-1 Alabama as Ross Wilson just drilled a pitch up the middle to score Rutledge who led off the inning with a double.
