The unsinkable Molly Johnson singles to right (nice try to a sliding, running near-catch by R-B) and steals second -- I thought she was out.

Aull flies out to left.

Yocke hits a home run foul but then draws a walk.

First and second for Cervantes, who hits a long fly to the warning track in left field. Johnson tags up and advances, Yocke asleep at first base stays put.

Smith hit by pitch -- bases loaded for the second time today for the Cats.

Riley up, singles to left, RBI, bases still loaded.

Kentucky up 1-0, looking for more with No. 7 hitter DeMartine up.

She flies out to left field for out three.

Alabama trailing by a run with 8-9-1 (Eubanks, Larsen, Rogers) coming to the plate in the bottom of the third.

Larsen walks and steals second. Rogers slaps a single through the right side to move Larsen to third, then steals second.

Lauren "The Natural" Parker sac fly to center, but Larsen out for leaving early.

Murphy argues and gets tossed.

That leaves Morgan up with two outs and Rogers on third.
Morgan pops up foul to shallow left.

Now it's 1-1.

Johnson hit a two-out double for Kentucky in the top of the fourth but Dunne got a strikeout to leave her on second.

Bottom of the fourth: (Riley in to pitch for Kentucky)

Reilly-Boccia hits the cover off the ball on a liner to left, but Johnson -- best shortstop in the SEC -- makes a leaping snag to rob Alabama of a double.

Holcombe draws a walk.

Locke strikes out, out two.

Montalvo fights off an inside pitch off her fists that floats to shortstop for out three.

After four:

Kentucky 1 4 0
Alabama 1 3 0

Top of the fifth, Kentucky gets a walk but that's it.

Alabama's turn:

Eubanks and Locke ground out.

Rogers hits a slap single but thrown out stealing.

She looks like she wants to discuss it with the ump, but the ump jogs off and doesn't acknowledge it.

Kentucky does down in order in the sixth, with another long drive to the corner in left field (just foul) for the third out -- several too close for comfort for UA, but Larsen's handled them all.

Alabama has a chance to grab a lead before the DANGEROUS Molly Johnson comes up to lead off the top of the seventh.

Parker pops up to second.

Morgan out 6-3.

Reilly-Boccia draws a two-out walk. Little surprised Alyson Habetz hasn't gone to the bench for a pinch runner here.

Wouldn't have mattered -- Holcombe flies out to left.

After six:

Kentucky 1 4 0
Alabama 1 4 0

Nothing doing in the seventh.

We go to the eighth -- free softball.

No international tiebreaker rule, yet.

Two hours before first pitch and the weather radar is iffy at best.

It's possible Alabama vs. Florida, Part IV, will have to wait for Oklahoma City.

We'll know soon enough. Stay tuned for updates.

Keep hope alive:

The rain has slowed to a drizzle and the weather radar now seems to be giving us a windown.

Both teams have already taken batting practice in the cages and are in the dugouts.

Seems impossible that it would start right on time, but I'm beginning to think we'll play -- or at least start.

Just learned that they plan a 2:30 p.m. ET start -- one-hour delay from the orginal start time.
There's a little more rain on the way and they think they can get it in after that.

Looking very much like we're going to play some softball here.

All three Alabama pitchers are out to take some warm-up, with Charlotte Morgan in the bullpen and both Kelsi Dunne and Amanda Locke doing long-toss on the field.

The Gators have both their pitchers in the bullpen. Coach Tim Walton said last night that he'll throw his ace, SEC Pitcher of the Year Stacey Nelson.

The tarp-pull crew has come onto the field and removed the sandbags weighing down the orange (of course) tarp. They're about to start pulling it.

It's barely spitting a light, light drizzle, but in truth we could have started on time at 45 minutes ago and not been delayed.

Start time is 1:30 p.m. CT on Fox SS.
