I realize that you may not be able to respond to the due to NCAA guidelines. The way you explain it does not make it very simple. I realize that you can only post once from the first pitch of the top of an inning to the last out of the bottom of the inning, but my question referred to the time between the last out of the bottom of an inning to the first pitch of the top of the next inning. I'm sure that the policy is probably the same, but your explanation was unclear.

Two final scores from Chapel Hill, N.C., Regional (the only other Thursday start):
BYU 3, North Carolina 0 (upset alert!)
Georgia 9, Campbell 0

Very active first inning all the way around.

Here's a quick recap:

Jax State in the top of the first: O'Neal singled, out 5-4 on fielder's choice when Rachel Fleming reached. Prier reached on an E4, which moved Fleming all the way to third. Underwood struck out. Fleming scored on a passed ball right between the catcher's legs. Barker singled Prier to third, but Elder struck out. 1 run on 2 hits with 1 error

FSU in the bottom of the first: Wynn out 1-3. Buckmon beat out a bunt single and stole second, moving to third on E2 trying to throw her out stealing. Ahrberg reached on a fielder's choice, grounder to first base (who threw home without stepping on the base but missed Buckmon), RBI, Buckmon scores. Osmon singled. Gilmore hit by pitch to load the bases, then Stager hit by pitch to score Ahrberg. Montez grounds out to second, out 4-3, RBI, driving in Osmon. Snyder out P4.
FSU 3 runs on 2 hits, 1 error.

Florida State up 3-1 after one.

According to the guidelines issued by the NCAA, and I quote:

"Spring Sports
Baseball and Softball: one [post] every inning (includes extra innings)"

I don't know how much more clear that can be. One post per inning means one post per inning. It doesn't mean you can post once during the inning and three times between innings. It's like that scene in Caddyshack when Lou bangs the kid's head against the rules:

Lou: "What's that say?"
Kid: "No bare feet."
Bangs his head again.
Lou: "What's that say?"
Kid: "No fighting."
Lou: "What's it mean?"
Kid: "No fighting."

It means one post per inning.

Here's the second inning:
Jax State in the top: Jarman K, Collins K (2-3); Ledbetter double to right; O'Neal 1-3 for third out.

FSU in the bottom: McConn lines out to first (L3); Wynn singled to left-center, left early stealing second for out two; Buckmon hit by pitch on the hand by "Wild Thing" Eliasson, who has now hit three batters; Buckmon caugth stealing 2-6 for the third out.

FSU 3, Jax State 1 after 2 innings.

You obviously don't understand my question, so I'll just leave it alone.

McDonald on a roll.

JSU goes down 1-2-3 in the third, with an exceptional defensive play by shortstop Ashley Stager on full run to snag a pop fly in foul territory for the first out.

FSU also 1-2-3. Ahrberg gives it a nice ride to the warning track in left field for the first out.

Decent crowd of a few hundred here for the non-Alabama game. Jax State stands mosly full. FSU, coming from farther away, a little more scarce.

And some UA fans beginning to file in.

Glad you are here, Chad. I think I remember who you are. Despite what many might think, I have always been treated well by the fans in Knoxville and quite well by the UT athletic department. I consider Ralph Weekly to be a friend as well as a source. He's a class act and I don't think I've ever interviewed him one time that he didn't thank me for my coverage on the sport, even when it's after a UT loss.

Ashley Waters, game management guru and amateur meteorologist supreme, informs me that the weather officially looks good the rest of the weekend. She is always right, so enough about that.

Jax State strikes back!
Jarman hits a two-out infield single. Collins doubles to left-center, RBI. Ledbetter, in the nine hole, draws a walk, as does leadoff hitter O'Neal. Fleming grounds out to second with the bases loaded.

McDonald pitch count: 80 pitches through 4 innings after a long fourth.

For FSU, two strikeouts and a groundout to third, with a walk mixed in there somewhere.

FSU's McDonald relieved by Terese Gober to start the fifth.

JSU's Eliasson at 60 pitches through four.

FSU up 3-2 heading into the fifth.

Go to live events, click on the game, it will tell you if you haven't registered before you have to register. Click register now, it will ask for you name and password and whether you want to receive CSTV e-mails (your choice). That should get you in for free. Guy here just did it and it worked.

I just registered with no problem.

UT-Chattanooga coach Frank Reed told me yesterday that sophomore Brooke Loudermilk, two-time SoCon Pitcher of the Year, has earned the right to start today.

No lineup yet for Alabama, but I expect lefty Charlotte Morgan to start from what head coach Patrick Murphy said yesterday.

Jax State (who I picked to finish second to Alabama in this regional) flexes some muscle against Gober in the fifth:

Prier hit by pitch; Underwood singles; Barker strikeouts out; Elder single to right, drives in Prier, RBI (ties game at 3-3); Elder takes second base on a passed ball to put two runners in scoring position for pinch hitter Alana Hicks, who lines out to right for second out.

Note: Pinch runner Amy Brown, in for Underwood on third base, took off on contact and had to scramble back instead of tagging up, costing JSU a run.

Kayla Collins up with two outs in a big situation. Gober with a big mistake, goes 2-2 then wild pitch to bring home Brown, letting her off the hook and giving the Gamecocks a 4-3 lead.

Gober throws another ball outside to walk Collins, putting them on the corners for Mary Beth Ledbetter with two outs. Ledbetter grounds out to short, but JSU fans are up waving white towels (the Jax State terrible towel).

Finally got a dog on the hill beyond right field, first one of the day. Large black one. Might be a small pony.

Florida State to the plate trailing for the first time all day in the bottom of the fifth: Wynn with an infield single to the shortstop side that just squeezes under the glove on a short hop; Buckmon grounder to pitcher for a fielder's choice with shortstop making a nice dig on a bad one-hop throw from Eliasson for out one; Ahrberg flies out to right field; Buckmon stole second (great throw by Barker but dropped by SS Ledbetter, who's been in the middle of everything, good and bad, for the JSU defense this inning); Eliasson strikes out Osmon to end the inning.

Jax State takes a 4-3 lead into the sixth.

FSU closes the barn door after the horses are out, bringing back McDonald in the sixth after Gober blew the lead. Jax State goes down 1-2-3.

Florida State pops up, then Stager hit by pitch. Punch Out King Chad Stears takes center stage on a 1-6-3 double play with the looping right hook punchout. And mad props to Ledbetter for making the throw to first as Stager took her out with a hard slide. Big-league play and a good stretch by Prier to make the catch for the out.

Jax State up 4-3 going into the top of the seventh as the upset looms.

FSU gets out of the top of the seventh with its own double play, unassisted by second baseman Kristie McConn on a nice snag-and-tag of a runner coming off first base.

Seminoles turn to pinch hitter Kelly McGregor to lead off the bottom of the seventh down 4-3.

That's why I call it May Madness!

My bad -- looked at the wrong roster -- pinch hitter was Kelly Langston, who struck out swinging for out one.

Camille Garcia pinch hitting comes through with a nice single to center. McConn re-enters to run for Garcia as the potential tying run.

Wynn fielder's choice, McConn out 4-6.

All up to Buckmon, the speedster. Grounds out to short to end the game.

Jax State University advances to Friday's winner's bracket game at 2:30 p.mm. against the winner of tonight's Alabama vs. Tennessee-Chattanooga game, which starts in about 20 minutes.

Aaron Suttles will take over posting on this thread for the Alabama game, soon as he gets his game story done from this game. I'll try to cover double-duty until he takes over, but I'll be concentrating on the game for our coverage.

Keep checking in on this thread all throughout the weekend until the conclusion of the regional. We'll just roll it over from game to game as we go.
