Tommy---this is funny, and Cecil has a good point. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw it happening!

Not a lot of sustained offense in this one.

Which means either the defense has gotten a lot better or the offense is lagging. Or something like that.

Wilson finds Mike McCoy for 30 yards with 20 seconds to go on the right sideline.

McCoy good snag in traffic and kept ahold of the ball. Ruled inbounds. No replay here to tell me otherwise.

Then dumps it off to Terry Grant for a short scamper to the end zone.

At the half it's Crimson 17, White 7.

You've all got a point, but... Nick is also NOT wearing pads, I assume! I like how he gets in the action, but the players need to let off the gas when they're about to run the coach down!

Halftime stats:

Leading rusher is Upchurch with 7 carries for 41 yards.

Wilson is 13 of 24 for 167 yards and two TDs.

Leading receiver is Mike McCoy with 4 catches for 68 yards.

Leading tackler is McCullough with six solo stops, including a sack. Reamer has five solo tackles.

And there's been an interception and a lost fumble to start the second half.

Lots of fans left at halftime. Still more people here than there would be for most schools' spring game.

Official attendance 78,200.

I won my under-over of 70,000.

No one is arguing that the count is inflated.

Fanuzzi's not looking very good so far. This is the first chance I've had to see him in "action".

Nick Fanuzzi quarterbacking the Crimson team in the second half. Thomas Darrah under center for the White.

Fanuzzi had first-team linemen and receviers to work with on the last possession.

So--if Fanuzzi had the first team offense to work with and didn't do to well, he won't be winning the starting job anytime soon?

I wish we could see McElroy play a couple of series with the first team and see how he does

Three down, one to go.

Crimson 17, White 7

This last 15 minutes will go fast.

And Darrah strikes with a long touchdown pass to Marquis (Purple) Maze.

Now it's 17-14, Crimsons.

He's back -- John Parker Wilson, that is.

And sacked to set up third-and-15.

Then flips it to Terry Grant for 75-yard touchdown. The man is FAST.

I voted for Mike McCoy for the Dixie Howell MVP Award and for McCullough as Dwight Stephenson lineman of the game.
