My car died Friday. I'm looking at a used BMW 328i, 5-Spd, 108K mi.
Seems like a lot of miles to me. Any experience/advice on these.
I hear they like only premium fuel Frowner

My only experience with a German car (which I bought new) was a HORRIBLE one. If it was me, I'd go for a Japanese car if you're going to buy one with that many miles, i.e. Toyota, Honda. Not that you can't get a lemon from any manufacturer, but I'm just saying. Anyway, do your homework:

Honda Civic. I swear it drives better than any small car on the road and my '08 EX is getting 38 miles to the gallon on my 150 mile daily commute.

Ditto! I love my '07 LX. I drove it from Mobile to Washington DC and got 40mpg driving 77 almost the entire way. Best thing is the electronic dash.

How many miles do you have on yours?

Ditto! I love my '06 LX. I drove it from Mobile to Washington DC and got 40mpg driving 77 almost the entire way. Best thing is the electronic dash.

16,500 on mine. This summer I have had it for two years. Whoops, make that an '06.

Stay away from BMWs with lots of miles. They are reliable, but when they do have minor or major problems, it is expensive to fix. My brother had an older 325is with a fuel leak (yeah a fuel leak). $800 to get that fixed which sucked.

If you have a good shop other than a dealership who will work on it, then maybe buy it.
