I have my own theory on this mattter.
This is the USA, and English is the primary language. If I make a call and a menu asks me to "press 1 for English", I promptly hang up.

In God we trust. In coach Saban, we have profound respect and hope.
God bless you, JPW. We'll miss you!

Would you rather press 2? I have no problem with offering others the oppurtunity to hear things in their primary language.

"No. 1 is to be physical and make sure that the team you're playing knows that they better bring their lunch because we're going to come after you on every play, the idea is when we hit the field, we're here and you're in for a long day. That's No. 1."

If a company has customers who speak another language, why shouldn't they offer a choice of languages?

Of course they should be offered their own language to use. If they want to use it from their own country! I have no problem with legal immigration and welcome all here that want to be here. If it weren't for all those immigrants at the turn of the last century a lot of us wouldn't be here now - Si? With that said , all of those people who came over on the boats to start a new life in a new country, adopted the language of their adopted country.

Let's save the argument of who was here first for another day - please.

If a company has customers who speak multiple languages, they don't necessarily know who's going to be calling. For instance, if you're calling the 800 number on the back of a credit card, how do they know which language you're going to want when you call? There's nothing unreasonable about selecting a language when you call. Of course, if you don't like it, you could also do business with some small company that doesn't want new business from people who speak another language. It just seems like a silly thing to be upset about.
