Both these guys are active members of the US Senate, an organization that has an approval rating by the American people of 9 percent.
Neither of them has ever done a freaking thing there, except draw a fat paycheck, but when they become President, all of a sudden they both are going to save the world.
What a farce. Frowner

You have posted numerous times that you don't care who the president is because it has no effect on your life, yet you continue to post messages on here complaining of who might be the next president. What gives? And this post is identical to the one you posted earlier today. Are you that hungry for attention?

Good point..well taken. But, I'm just trying to make people aware that the media is attempting to keep politics at the forefront of everybody's mind, when American's have more to worry about than who is going to be the next President. But,it seems to be working. As a result of 24/7 political coverage on 4-5 cable networks, it is all people talk about anymore, and guess who is prospering from it. FOX, CNN,
MSNBC, CNBC.
Get my message???

In a presidential election you vote for the party...the party runs the show, the president is the figurehead.

Perhaps that is what you should have posted to begin with. But quite frankly, you happen to be in the minority on presidential politics. Most people do care, and if this site is any indication, they care passionately.

Who the president is does make a difference in your life as an American. The president drives the agenda, dictates what is important for America and which direction the country goes in. The next president may appoint as many as three SCOTUS justices, which could have a profound effect on our lives.

I'm not trying to debate you or change your mind, but simply making a point that for many it does matter and that is why you see it and hear it 24/7. I agree that it does get tiresome, but if we didn't watch or respond, it wouldn't dominate the media like it does. TV media fight for ratings just like TV entertainment and sports. If it didn't rate, they wouldn't run it.

Americans should not look to government to solve the problems that plague our society.
But, that is a whole other discussion, for another time.

We elect our officials to exercise the will of the people. Since we can't all be legislators (they couldn't build a building big enough} these people we elect are expected to maintain our infrastructure keep the playing field level on matters of race, economics and business and opportunity, investigate and prosecute criminals, make sure our food, medecines, automobiles and household goods are safe, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare to ouselves and to our posterity....etc. etc.
The current administration has done none of those things and they have abused every responsibility given them for profit. If you want more of the same, then vote for McSame.
I agree that the media keeps spinning every little nuance of every little phrase but you have to be able somehow to cut through the crap and see things as they are and how they could or should be. The talking heads are just trying to sell their airtime.
I've never had any time for the apathetic. Either you're in it or you're out. The search for the truth ain't an easy one. It takes work. With me it's my second job.

The next president is probably going to appoint 2 Supreme Court Justices to the bench under his term. That is about an important thing as I can think of. The Iraq occupation (not a war) is a big issue that's drained our resources to the breaking point and broken our military's capabilities. If you're looking for a reason to vote, you might put that on the top of your list. You might also want to consider that whoever is up there running things has a clear head and is smart, articulate and visionary. If you make those your criteria, you'll figure our which one of the two candidates has those qualities and push the right button on election day.
Voting's not a priviledge, it's a duty. Too damn many people fought and died for our rights.
Vote Dammit, or you don't deserve to be called an American !!

Deacon, I don't think you have cut through the crap from obama. If you want change he's the best, he changes his policies everyday. He will appoint justices that approve the far left agenda, ban guns, for abortion etc.
He wants to help the middle class, yea, no drilling,no nuclear, no coal,no refineries. Oil that we could refine and be available in two years at the gas pumps. Wind and other forms of energy is at least 10 to 20 years away. When was the last time you saw a semi, train or airplane transporting anything powered by wind? Full electric power years away.Guess we can pay 8.00 gas prices until the savior(obama) and the dems can develop the technology. In the meantime things will be better for the middle class, they don't buy gas.

Hey tsbush, I found a liberal whacko outfit to disagree with your assessment that the proposed offshore drilling will produce oil "in two years." These crazy leftist pinkos say the oil won't make an impact on the oil supply until 2030!!!!

Commies!!!!

These America-haters call have a name: THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!
