Minus the track across Florida, that reminds me a bit of Katrina. Of course, Katrina took up half the gulf prior to landfall. Still, I worry what will happen when this one gets over the warm waters of the gulf.

This thing is going to be big and ugly. Things are going to get rough again. The coast isn't ready for this.

Do hurricane's ever follow the projected course perfectly? I can understand a day or two in advance would be accurate, but 6 days? I never really pay attention to hurricane's that far away, does anyone know how accurate the projections usually are?

They are usually pretty accurate when given after the storm makes landfall. J/K. Hopefully this thing will fizzle out and just water the grass a little bit somewhere.

Rest in Peace Julie!

Either way, New Orleans could be in trouble.

If it misses New Orleans to the east like Katrina, the surge and water will once again flood the city.

To the west and New Orleans will get worse wind and water damage than they did during Katrina.

I thought we were keeping it up dated on the original thread. Confused

I just posted that animals in shelters are already being evacuated. No decision about people yet. Guess people can fend for themselves better but plans are being put together for them also.
