UPDATE 12/12/08 -- ALL BUTTS ARE SOLD! If you have already promised to donate or buy one, please have your money in by the 17th of Dec! Thanks, everyone, for making this a huge success!
I can cook 40 butts on the cooker you see below. I smoke them for 18-20 hours, wrap them and let them rest in a cooler for another 3-4 hours, then distribute them. A finished butt will cost $25. If you're not interested in purchasing one for consumption, you could donate one (they average about $12 each at my butcher's) and someone else could buy it for regular price. This would eliminate any cost associated w/ purchasing the meat. If we get enough donated and still sell all 40, then we can give them $1000. I'm already booked up for Thanksgiving week and the weekend of SECCG, plus it would be a very tight turnaround at this point already, so I'm thinking later in the month of December...maybe even between Christmas and New Year. Sound off if you're interested in this in any way.  Seriously, Zuter, this is so awesome of you, and since I can vouch for how awesome your smoked butts are, I hope people will take you up on this! Put me down to donate two raw butts, and I'll purchase one finished one.
