SO....your theory is that labor costs increase yet prices go up? Also that while the wage increases the gap widens. By your logic, eliminating the min. wage would wreck profits and close the gap between rich and poor. O.....K. Praise-all and Blame-all are two blockheads. - Benjamin Franklin |

Remember the history, gentlemen. In the early days of American industry, huge companies would keep pay so low that many working Americans lived worse than in many third-world nations. The companies also colluded with one another to ensure the wages would stay low. This was one of the reasons trust-busters like T. Roosevelt fought so hard to outlaw collusion and foster competition. (Competition involves competing for good workers as well.)
The problem with the neocon fantasy of eliminating the min. wage is that it will lead back to the proliferation of the only other word neocons fear more: UNIONS! AAAH! Sorry I scared you guys! Praise-all and Blame-all are two blockheads. - Benjamin Franklin |

NO thats not what he said. He said nothing of eliminating the min wage. He only stated the effects of raising the min wage. If you actually read his post and got off your soapbox you would understand that. "It’s not that I’m scared of Phil Fulmer the football coach. I’m scared of Phil Fulmer the obese food pantry ninja.” |
