How does Freedom of Speech apply when you are speaking in Germany? They have the right to decide what forum they give to Sen. Obama and whether he speaks at all.

There were a number of Democrats who went to Iraq when the war firat started and protested. A couple of Congressmen and several Hollywood Democrats.

I honestly do not recall any such activity in Iraq. If you're hanging your hat on Jane Fonda that was a long time ago and hardly party related.

The thing with left wing Democrats that are supporting Obama is you can have free speech as long as it agrees with them. The reason I'm not voting for Obama is because of his lack of experience. I have as much Foreign Policy experience as he does which is zilch. Going over there he will come to the middle and say we need to be in Iraq. McCain has more experience.

It happened in Iraq. It was not Hanoi Jane. There were at least two Democratic Congressmen and at least two Hollywood stars.

For the life of me I cannot recall their names right now, but it was debated heavily on Fox News with Hannity and Combs. Also, Bill O' discussed it at length.

Maybe someone else on the forum can remember what their names were. I will be at Emory Hospital in Atlanta tomorrow through Wednesday. I am taking a friend down for surgery and staying until they are released on Wednesday. So I will not have the opportunity to research this. But it happened.

The only person I can find documentation of going to Iraq early on and protesting the US involvement there was Sean Penn in 2005. I can't find any evidence of any Democratic congressmen or party officials doing the same in Iraq. I wouldn't call Sean Penn a player in the Democratic party.

On another subject, while we can completely disagree politically, I hope your friend has a very successful surgery and a speedy recovery. You are obviously a good friend to do that. Peace be with you and your friend.
