and it's a popular/hyp thing to do and it will be "historical" IF he is elected? I am very certain that is the reason the "hollywood" crowd and media is behind him, but wonder if that is the overwhelming reason that the majority of his supporters support him? the fact that NONE of them have a clue as to what it is exactly he plans to do if elected makes one wonder.

I think a lot of people are just hyped up on this whole "CHANGE" direction and that they cannot see the bad change coming with him. We discussed taxes a little yesterday. I did more digging last night and found out even more about Obama's tax plan. This is disturbing and is really going to catch a lot of people off guard that put Obama in the White House.

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN = 0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples) McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA = 28% on profit from ALL home sales. How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN = 15% (no change)

OBAMA = 39.6%

How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama become president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.'

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN = (no changes)
Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama your taxes will more than double!
How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN: 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA : Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you? Before the tax was repealed many families have lost businesses, farms and ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones that cannot afford the taxes will lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

*New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square ft.
*New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already !)
*New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)
*New taxes on retirement accounts and last but not least....
*New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Change . . . The only thing will be left in your pocket after Obama is finished with you!

People are voting for and against him because he's black.

Some say he is only a candidate because of his skin color.

YES! YES! YES! The only reason anyone is voting for Obama is because he's black. That's it. Nothing else. Conversely and logically, that is also the only reason anyone is not voting for him.

There, that should settle it once and for all.

I have a buddy that is a Company Commander in Ft Lewis, Washington. I asked him where the soldiers stood on Obama and Mccain. He flat out said his black soldiers are going to vote for Obama just because he is black and know very little about the issues at hand and could care less about the issues.

Yes. SOme people will vote for obama just because he is black.

There were also a lot of people that voted for Hillary "just because she is a women."

My dad took a phone call from a woman that was campaigning for Hillary. She told him that we needed to vote for Hillary because "we need a woman as our President." Dad told her that if he said he was going to vote for Obama because he is black or McCain because he is white then he would be called a racist.

Her response to Dad was that "we still need a woman in office." Roll Eyes

Yes, the majority of the black community is voting for Obama for their own personal reasons. Whether they identify with his views or nothing more being that he is the first every to go after the biggest prize in our country. This doesn't bother me much though as this is nothing new. All races have and will continue to do so. Are some people voting for McCain just because he is white? Absolutely. Are some people voting for Obama just because he is Democrat? Absolutely. We all vote based on our preference, and many times not based on the real facts. If it came down to voting based on race, Obama would have never made it past Super Tuesday...he can thank a HUGE white vote for putting him where he is. As for me, I'm voting against Obama, not for McCain based on where I believe Obama will take this country if put into office. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm voting against him because of how ignorant his policies are and his lack of experience. Some say he's a good speaker and I think that is a major selling point for the weak minded. They don't focus , uh, on, uh, what he says, uh, well, uh, I think, uh, but rather how, uh, he says it. But many are simply voting for/against due to his skin color.

I love the weak-minded argument. Do you ever wonder why conservative talk radio is so big?

I am not dening your numbers, but when it comes to taxes there are a lot of variables.

Also the inheritance tax is not accurate. McCain might want it to 0%, but that will be a change. It is at 0% for the tax year 2010 only. It is a one year repeal, that is set to go back up in 2011.

-------------------------------------------------

That is not toally accurate. Yes, the inheritance tax is set to be repealed in 2010, then "readjusted" in 2011. It will only be readjusted to the 2002 exemption level with the 2001 top rate...Which means nothing is taxed under $1 million. The difference here is that Obama wants restore the tax to 2000 levels which means anything over $675k is taxed at the top rate of 55%. McCain on the other hand wants to raise the cap to $5 million before any death tax.

"No experience; no judgment; no integrity," ... Obama, your president.
