I spent the afternoon lying by the pool at a good friend's house..
It got me thinking about how great it is to have the kind of friends who you can sit around and talk, dish dirt, drink wine, sing too loudly and out of key, not worry about how bad you think you look in a swimsuit or how crappy your hair looks or if your toenails are done perfectly..

I guess maybe that is how Mr. Mom feels about his golf excursions with the guys. Smiler
(except we had WAY more fun they they do golfing) Big Grin

You are so right!! I only have a couple of really, true friends like you described. But I don't think that there is any amount of money I would take for them.

Too bad we aren't a little closer to each other. I laid by the pool with the girls today, too. We could have joined forces!!!

My sister-in-law are best buds. We have begun to hit the road together , leaving husbands and children behind for the weekend. She and I are the wild ones in the family, so when it's just the two of us, we can say and do anything without worrying what the other one will think.

Sorry to interupt this guurl chat, but you are right about one thing A-mom, when us guys play golf, we don't drink wine, talk about our swimsuits, hair, or how our toenails look!!! But trust me, we do talk.... Wink. And we do have a lot of fun!!!! You should see the beverage cart girls!!!! Wink

But I'm willing to try the laying out thingy with all you ladies at the pool. I'm sure some other guys here are willing also, right guys? Big Grin

In all seriousness, I'm playing in a golf tournament next weekend with one of my best friends i've known for 20 years, and i haven't talked with him for almost 2 years, until we talked recently. Best friends are exactly that, best friends!! Even though it had been over 2 years, it was just like yesterday. Smiler

Difference between guys and girls, me and my friend are not going shopping for "clothes" after the golf tournament. Big Grin

My sister-in-law was a beverage cart girl in B'ham and she has entertained us with quite a few stories and made quite a bit of money while she was doing that.

Unfortunately around here we don't have beverage carts.. it's bring your own cooler and put it in the cart with you.

Did one of those stories involve a police car driving into a lake? If so, I may know her. Wink

That doesn't sound familiar but I'll be sure to ask her and get back to you.

Most of her stories involved her making more tips the drunker the guys got and the less clothing she was wearing so I'm sure she has none that would pertain to you. Wink

She worked at Bent Brook.

Nope nope, not me. I don't drink when I play golf. I'll save my cart girl stories for later then. Wink

But I was standing on a tee box one day out at Bent Brook golf course in Bessemer, waiting for the green to clear. A two lane road runs right beside this hole, and as we are standing there, a cop car comes flying by on this road. For those of you familiar with Bent Brook, I was on the 4th tee, Graveyard. Anyways, not that big of a curve in the road, but I guess he was going so fast, and wasn't paying attention, that he went straight, when the road curved, and he busted through a 3 rail wooden fence, and went airborne and landed right into a small pond. Just like out of Smokey and the Bandit!! Eeker

He swam out of his car, and we yelled at him, if he was ok, and he yelled back once he got onshore, that he was ok, so we just kept on playing. Just another round of golf!!!! Big Grin Wink

I don't have many girlfriends...and most of mine live out of town so I don't get too see them much.

I do like to hang with the girls...but I can't stand talking about furniture, clothes, shoes, etc...I get bored. It has to be a certain kind of girl for me to hang out with her.
