"VP, Gottfired Nation" 1993 |
Regardless of who is elected in November and who you support, will you at least pray for the new president and hope that he succeeds in his job? The reason I ask is that there is more hatred toward one candidate or the other this year than I've ever seen. Although I didn't vote for Pres. Bush and I think his presidency thus far has been a complete failure, I continue to pray for him and for his success in leading our nation.

I will support the new president until somebody else takes his place. I may work to not get him re-elected, but I will support him while in office.

Well technically I still "support" George Bush. I don't want any of our leaders making bad decisions.

I pray for all of our leaders to make wise decisions’. If Obama is elected I will certainly pray for him and his family, but I have to say that some of you on the left, seem to really “hate” President Bush and think there is nothing good at all that he has done for the country or for the world.
I might be way off on this, but when I'm praying for someone I am engaging in an act of love, not emotional love, but an action to seek what is best for that person even though I may be opposed to, disagree with or in some cases someone that has done harm to me, my family, a friend or my country. I'm not going to say I'm good at this because I'm not, but the way I look at things, those of us who believe in prayer, have been loved and granted grace beyond anything we can comprehend and to the degree that we get that, to that degree we will, or at least should, be willing to grant grace to others... even those we don't think deserve it, after all I don't deserve what I have received by a long shot. |

If Obama wins, I will definitely pray.
1. Pray that he doesn't totally destroy our military. 2. Pray that he doesn't succeed in his attempt at Universal health care. 3. Pray that he doesn't take more from the working man and give it to the "trash" in our society. 4. Pray that he doesn't get too friendly with the leaders of middle eastern countries. 5. Pray that his "race-baiting" wife doesn't open her mouth too much. 6. Pray that he will surround himself with advisers who know something about; foreign affairs, economics, military readiness, and white folks. 7. Then I will pray that he will listen to them. "If you WAIT to see what happens. What you want to happen will NOT". |

Here! Here! Your last paragraph could not have been expressed any better. We all need to constantly remind ourselves of it. Thanks |

We sit here every day and argue, worry, and fret about who is going to win the Presidency.
The truth is, for the average American (like me) it doesn't really matter who is in the White House. My life doesn't evolve around politics, nor is it particularly affected by them. I'd like to think that I am a fairly self-reliant individual, and my happiness and well being is certainly not determined in any way by which corrupt politician happens to occupy the White House. I live in my own world, and answer to a higher authority than some washed up, corrupt politician that told enough lies, and made enough empty promises to enough people to somehow get elected. RTR In God we trust. In coach Saban, we have profound respect and hope. God bless you, JPW. We'll miss you! |

The laws enforced and interpreted through liberal courts impact us all. The DC gun ban being shot down only 5-4 is a classic case of what will be upheld if Obama gets in and appoints his judges. Maybe then it will impact you and/or yours. ________________________ There's very little difference in being average and being a champion...the champion has a winning attitude on and off the field... |

McCain better hope somebody is praying for him so he wont die of old age if he gets it and Obama better hope somebody is praying he makes it more than two months in office if he gets it.
I will still respect the title and the office but that doesnt mean I have to respect the person. "Some things are like a tire fire, trying to put it out only makes it worse. You just gotta grab a beer and let it burn." Hank Hill |

It'll go like this:
Obama wins and the country continues to fall apart, things get worse. People will say "see, I told you so." McCain wins and the country contines to fall apart, things get worse. People will say "It's beyond his control, blame the democratic congress." Obama wins and the country turns the corner, the economy improves, the wars are ended, Osama is captured and I can afford to travel to Europe again. People will say "It's because of the great things Bush put in motion before leaving office." McCain wins and the country turns the corner, the economy improves, the wars are ended, Osama is captured and I can afford to travel to Europe again. People will say "See, I told you so." "Do you know what nemesis means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent, personified in this case by a horrible c*nt, me." |

If thats the case, McCain should win in a landslide. Your scenario assumes everybody thinks Obama is incompetent. If everybody thinks that, November won't even be close. |

One intriguing note is that the impact of most presidential actions are hard to feel during the actual term. Take the economy for instance, if the economy turns (assuming it's not part of the natural process) in the first 2 years of which ever president, it's hard to say that the president has anything to do with it. In my opinion, most presidents get far too much credit for a lot of things that happen during their terms. |
