I did nothing today. And am damn proud of it.

Wait... A few minutes ago I rolled the trash can and the recycle can back away from the curb. Does that count as something?

I've been counselling students all day.
A 16 year old boy who has attempted suicide 4 times; takes heavy prescribed doses of Aderol, Prozac, and Lexapro.
You look into that childs eyes and ask yourself, "who in the world mistreated you to make you have to live like this"
It's heart breaking!

In God we trust. In coach Saban, we have profound respect and hope.
God bless you, JPW. We'll miss you!

Nope, but I did a complete review with my assistant of all my files, and I believe I will be able to take some vacation time in December. Sweet!

JPW how much freedom do you have to be able to share God's love with students when you are counseling?

@TP, btw congrats on a great day.

I teach in the public school system, and even though we can't share our faith, all my students know that I am a Christian. It try to share the love and compassion of Christ with everyone I come in contact with.

I understand where you're coming from on both points. About the kids...doesn't it feel completely overwhelming sometimes? About the faith...I've probably done enough to get me fired and prosecuted in some places...no big deal...money is only good in this world.

Both semesters that I taught at UNA I talked about God. I was just an adjunct, and I figured the worst they could do is not ask me to come back. I never shoved anything down their throats, but I made sure they knew that God was a part of my life.
