Just an FYI, but it's my understanding that the existing politics forum will be converted to "read only" on Monday rather than merging all the existing threads with Halftime. Any future political topics will be posted here in Halftime as of Monday. I'm waiting for clarification from Chris, but that is what was discussed.

The reason TREY suggested it to the admins is because the activity has slowed down so much in the politics forum that there isn't much use in keeping it open anymore. There isn't much to talk about anymore there. It is what it is. Spamming doesn't happen anymore. We took care of that problem. Yes everyone... it will become a read only. There is no reason to have a forum that lacks activity. TP says above... the spamming and ugliness that caused the Election forum to be created has pretty much gone away. And will not be tolerated in Halftime.

I now nominate TPLAW for the Nobel Prize. I really appreciate that, but just for clarification: what do you define as spamming in these threads? Is it simply cutting and pasting articles? Or is it hijacking threads with nothing constructive to add to the conversation?
