Gamespot.com had a review of this feature with several solid tests and they actually came away somewhat disappointed. yeah, you still have to have the game in the tray to play it, but it still totally eliminates spin time. The system basically checks to see if the game is there. With the disc not actually spinning, the system's heat is reduced, which makes for a longer life. I ripped Oblivion to my hard drive last night, and noticed a 2-3 second load time difference

I've been hooked on the Halo games for about 5 years now. They aren't available on PS3. The RROD is overrated. The problems were with the first generation XBox's that were issued. I bought mine about a year after they came out. It RROD'd once after leaving it on for about 2 days (overheating). Called Xbox CS, great service, got a new one in a week.

The PS3 is more of an enteratainment console. I love the graphics and the bluray technology. You can also go on line with the PS3 and rent movies in HD or Download movies/TV shows to buy. Very cool concept. That and it seems to last longer than the xbox "I've got the red ring of death" 360.
