1. Talking the husband and the 16 y.o. into "walking" the steer was not exactly a good idea!! Big Grin

2. And, Elvis impersonators are really not a good idea either...there were two kinds discovered today...those that sang his songs and butchered them, or there were ones that tried to "move" like Elvis. Trust me men, don't ever, ever try to move like Elvis !! LOL

And one more thing, a pudgy Elvis was not handsome so a pudgy Elvis impersonator in a tight white jumpsuit?? And this was for a national competition.

3. Only young parents can take children to a fair! Big Grin We took our boys when they were little but today the thought of having to take a stroller, wipes, etc. sent fear through me!! I'm just too old to take young children to the fair anymore! LOL

My husband and I went to the Florida State Fair.

However, the steer fiasco was in our own yard...and down the road..and in the pasture in front of our house! Big Grin

Oh #1, pics would have been great but unfortunately there aren't any!! We were too busy trying to keep the steer off the main road. In case you haven't guessed, he's not to tame! Big Grin My 16 y.o. weighs 105 pounds soaking wet...my husband isn't a big guy either. The steer is around 1,000 lbs. Anyway, I now have "trenches" in my yard where the guys tried to plant their feet and stop the steer. Needless to say, that didn't work!! LOL I did laugh for a good long time after he was back in his pen!

Well seems better than the Alabama State Fair at the Fairgrounds here in the Ham. Your lucky if you walk out of there with your wallet and no stab wounds. Eeker

It was in the house. Actually, I was out there with a plate of sliced oranges trying to coax the big ol' dummy to walk. He would walk a little then plant his feet, then take off. The third time, ol' Leroy got free. When they finally let go of the ropes I was chasing him with the plate of oranges in my hands!! It was a sight to behold I'm sure Big Grin
