I'm sure he means to be LOUD when Bama is on Defense--not when Bama is on Offense. All too often, too many Bama fans don't realize that when we are on offense, our players need to hear GMc's signals! Be as loud as you can on D...Be virtually silent on O! |

You know I have always heard that there are some that tell people to sit down but had never witnessed it until the UT game. He told the man to sit down b.c they couldnt see. Then there was a big play and the man who told the other man to sit down was standing. I wanted to tell him he needed to sit down he was blocking the people behind him. How come its ok for him to block someones view but someone cant block his. It just made me so mad to see.

I don't care what all the old people do (I actually do, but I won't argue about it), just don't tell me to sit down. I've had the "old fart" behind me tell me to sit down a few times and I'm just not going to do it when our defense is on the field. If you want to sit down and be quiet, fine, I can't make you make noise. But I don't think anyone has "earned" their right to not yell, just because they've supported Alabama before I was born. That's just horrible logic. If you want to call yourself a true fan because you've supported the team longer, whatever. I'll not only support it when I'm an "old fart", but I'll make noise as long as I can and when I can't yell anymore I'll give the tickets to my grandchildren or someone else who can help our team win. |

Old people have money for tickets AND they don't throw urine on visiting fans like the lsu Neanderthals do. Old fans are not a bad thing. I thought the noise at the UT game was quite good for a team that stunk it up for 4 quarters. RTR! It's UA against them, people. Screw the SEC. |

So you don't think that being a supporter and booster for over 50 years makes any difference? Well son, your line of reasoning certainly parallels your maturity level. You refer to a person's right to "not yell"....what the hell does THAT mean? The idea that some snotty-nosed kid is going to scold me for not conducting myself to his/her expectations pisses me, and obviously a lot of others on this forum off. I could continue about the drunk, loud, vulgar and obnoxious 20-somethings all over the stadium during games, but I won't go there....I think you're getting the picture. And, by the way, don't tell me what you will or won't do when/if you become an "old fart"...it never turns out like you think...a little FREE wisdom from an "old fart".  |

Hopefully, the stadium will be rockin' with BAMA voices. Apparently, the noise at the Tn game was ear-splitting because the announcers were complaining, so I think tomorrow will be louder. Hope so. I can't be there in person, but I'll be there in spirit, and I'll be yelling at home, as usual. RTR

I think if the "old farts" need to yell then the "young, enthusiastic people" need to stay in their seats for the entire game and not make 20 trips to the bathroom and concession stand to maintain their level of drunkenness. You can't yell the entire game while not in your seat. As a person who just recently had knee surgery, I can tell that I can yell as loudly as anyone without standing. What exactly is the correlation between standing and noise?

Don't call me "son". And if you can't understand what I'm talking about when I say that I'm fine with old farts not yelling, then that's just your problem. I'm sorry you have to put up with the drunk 20 year olds, but I'm not one of them. I'm just a young guy who goes to games and likes to help my team how I can, by being loud. And as much as it pisses you off to see the drunk students, it pisses me off to be told to sit down by a 95 year old woman. |
