Actually, any history major knows that it takes more than one ruler to make a dynasty. Therefore, it would be more appropriate to call him, "Great Ming," after the Empire. Ming means "brilliant." Yao Ming may have dibs on this name though.

Interestingly, the Ming Dynasty was formed by the Red Turbans, which were the revolutionary component of a Buddhist sect known as the White Lotus. So you add your Crimson and White and you got the start of the Ming Dynasty.

The name I prefer, however, is "Ming the Merciless," after the villain in the Flash Gordan comics (and the movie from 1980 -- Queen did the soundtrack with a song called, "Ming's Theme.") Now there is a name fitting a defensive player.

Thanks for the sympathy, Lee. (sigh) Frowner

Yes Ming Dynasty, Ming the Merciless, and a Ming Vase have all been kicked around a few times.

Gee, I wish that I would have come up with "Ming Vase" Razzer

Sorry dude, good try, but all of those were taken two days ago. Keep tryin' though, you might come up with a 'Ming Thing'! Big Grin

If we could steal that Mingo kid away from LSU then we could call them the "Ming Dynasty".
