I just watched several of his videos, including US Army all American, and I don't see how he doesn't start. He is just to big and fast not to. As long as he can handle the mental aspect (and he seems very bright), he should be able to handle the starting job. I know a lot of people say Carpenter will start, and he may, but Fluker is 50 Lbs heavier and just as quick. I know I know, Saban will make the right choice I just really see Fluker in the starting left tackle spot.

I saw him have a little with some of the speed rushers. I hope he's ready to contribute. The o-line could use an infusion of Fluker's talent. I worry about the shoulder too

The Army All American game demonstrated to me that he is probably NOT ready to start at LT. He had a real problem with the speed rush. If memory serves, a DE blew past him and hit AJ as he was throwing causing an interception. Granted, Fluker was going against some of the best HS talent in the country, but the SEC won't be any easier. I think Carpenter will start at LT, Fluker may play at guard.

Fluker got beat several times in the All American bowl. One of which resulted in AJ getting hammered. He's got room for improvement.

Agree with the exception of him playing guard, I don't think he'll start at all.

DJ Fluker was suffering from a knee injury during the All-American game. So, do not be so quick to pass judgment on him due to that single performance.

Fluker will play situationally this year. I doubt that he starts because of the competition at guard and Carpenter at tackle. If he DOES start, that tells me he's the real deal.
Even A. Smith had a little trouble his freshmen year. Not much, but there is always a learning curve and adjustment to the speed and power of the college game.
Those who want to get it done find a way. Those that dont want to get it done find an excuse.

CORRECT! I don't know why people always throw up the AA game with out mentioning he was playing hurt. Fluker will start somewhere wether its Gaurd or Tackle. He will hit the field....
