something that got me really thinking about how the NCAA hands out penalties and how it pi**es me off.
The discussion was about the Letter of Inquiry Florida State was recently handed. Burton talked about how New Mexico had been hammered a year or two ago for the same type of offences. It cost them 5 scholarships and they could not sign more than 20 recruits for 5 years. They were found guity on 5 counts. Florida State is being charged with over 50 counts. Here's the good part and the most disturbing point in the conversation. Burton said that he thought Florida State would be treated differently than New Mexico and the penalties could be less. WHAT! For someone this connected to college football to even think this (even thou it's true), much less speak out on radio, shows how many different layers there are to NCAA enforcement. I had no use for the NCAA before, but now I worry these idiots might destroy this great sport. I fear the member institutions are farked. I know the NCAA is farked. Where's the consistency? I'll get off my soapbox now. RTR! "There are no miracles in sports. The strongest always win." Eddy "The Cannibal" Merckx |

I think the penelties should be handed out by a group from the conf. of the school that was found to be breaking the rules. This way if you stuck it to me when I was in the wrong I could in turn stick it to you when you were in the wrong.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Obviously USC can get away with anything with zero penalty. |

Don't forget Ohio State they can do what they want with no repercussions. The sleeping giant has awakened and it's name is the Crimson Tide |

The NCAA made an example out of Alabama. All I can say is the Tide better not ever get caught breaking any NCAA rules again because it won't be pretty if they do.

Of course all of these other Universities need to thank Alabama for the lack of penalties they receive.
If not for all the law suits filed by Alabama, and Bama Boosters, then the NCAA would still be practicing their gestapo routine. It's not fair that we got nailed like we did, and then USC, Ohio State, Tennessee, and FSU get free passes, but it did help to show the idiots at the NCAA, that there are monetary repercussions for what they did. Maybe not in fines but in millions of dollars in legal fees. I hope more colleges sue those clowns. Every game is for the National Championship Roll Tide We're next, simply because Ole Miss was first. |

The NCAA is a corrupt organization. We in the Bama nation know how unfair the sanctions handed down to Alabama were. As the previous post said, it is what it is.
