Afternoon, been checking out your board every now & then and decided to join. I'll go ahead & identify myself as an AU alum, but I'm here to talk Auburn/Alabama/SEC football not taunt anybody. I lived in Alabama for about 15 years before moving to Seattle, so I like to hit these sites to get some good SEC football conversation vs. the ridiculous USC/PAC 10 is dominate crap you hear up here.
I am curious what you think is the wisest decision in terms of coaching changes for Alabama next year. I understand why you guys stuck w/ Shula for this long, it shows other coaches that Bama will give them a chance to get their system going/recruit, but I also know that no Auburn fans would want to keep someone who couldn't seem to beat Bama and I think any coach looking at our universities understands that that is imperative. So given what Shula did last season, how the team has progressed in games this season, the inexperience at some of your positions, do you think a new head coach is the only way to turn it around or do you think that certain position coaches should be changed i.e. offensive line or maybe offensive coordinator?
If you think the only right thing to do is start fresh, what coaches would you go after? I saw a list of Spurrier (I don't think he'd go, just doesn't make sense), Rodriguez (possibility), Gruden who I think might be a good fit and tough to play/recruit against, Petrino (that's a bad choice, take it from an AU guy, he's money & NFL hungry, he'll be in the pros in a few years and you could get someone with an appreciation for defense), or Saban (maybe, but I don't think he's out just yet). Who else in college or NFL would you go after? Brother Oliver?
