There was an ethics seminar today at Shelby Hall, and Coach Saban was the guest speaker. I work in Shelby so I snuck in and got to hear him talk for about 45 minutes. The first thing he said was that we could ask him anything we wanted to as long as it wasn't about the football team, so I don't really have much to share, but it was still awesome. He's a great speaker, and there were only about 15 other people in there so he pulled a chair up and sat down with everyone.

Was it ethical of him to let you ask any question as long as it wasn't football?

He did make some Jimmy Johns references (it was a talk on ethics, no way around it), but he just said "a player" and "that guy" and stuff like that...never his name. He said that they had been working with everyone about making good decisions and that he failed "the player" and "the player" failed him and the University of Alabama. I thought it was interesting that he took part of the blame.
