Houston Nutt is about to speak in a few seconds

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being an overflow crowd of writers and 1 being an empty room, Mark Richt commanded about an 8, Nick Saban a 10 (the room went from chatty to hushed silence in a matter of moments once he entered the room) and Houston Nutt, currently speaking is at about a 7.

On his 7 months at Ole Miss:
It feels like I've been here a long time. I think because of the smooth transition I feel like I've been here awhile

Nutt is talking about how good the move was for him and his coaching staff -- saying how refreshed he feels. Giggity, giggity. Sorry couldn't resist.

On the SEC:
There's excellent coaching, tremendous athletes. You look at the tools, the facilities, it's the greatest conference in America. You look at the atmosphere, the pageantry, the tailgaiting it's a tremendous conference. Each year I think 9 or 10 teams could win our conference. That's the recipe, it all adds up to a tremendous Saturday afternoon.

When asked about academically challenged defensive tackle Jerrell Powe and whether or not he will ever get on the field, the normally garrulous Nutt gave a quick, one sentence answer that basically said - I don't know.

In the print/internet room the players from each team speak at opposite ends of the room at a makeshift platform/podium/desk setup.
In regards to the 1-10 scale as it applies to the players, the two UGA players defensive tackle Jeff Ownes and wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi both had media members five to six deep at each table, giving them a score of 9.
Alabama center and free safety Rashad Johnson each had rows that stretched to seven deep and totaled around 50, giving them a 10.
Currently Ole Miss players Micheal Oher and Peria Jerry are speaking.
Oher, who barring injury will probably be a top 5 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, has his table surrounded by about 40 media members, on the other hand, Jerry has only about 8 at his table. Oher gets a 10 while Jerry gets about a 2 for a combined average of 6.
Philip Fulmer is next. Should be interesting to see what happens after this morning's breaking news.

Fulmer is giving his opening statement...nothing about the subpoena so far

Here comes the subpoena question.
Fulmer's response:
"I have not seen a subpoena. This is not the place for that type of thing. The fans are not interested in that type of b.s."

Tuscaloosa News football beat writer Chris Walsh tried to ask Fulmer about the subpoena, but could only get four or five words out before being interrupted by Fulmer's response:
"I'm not going to talk about it. If you don't have a question about the team I'm not going to answer it."

And Fulmer is done.

LOL. I love how Fulmer is going to act pissy about this thing... if you start it, most likely, somewhere down the road, you're going to be called upon to testify. Too bad, Phil. We're all crying for you.
