I'm a student at the university and I enjoy singing it after the games. After games like Duke of FIU I do sing it sort of tongue in cheek but I really do enjoy yelling it after a big win. And you wont be able to stop the students from singing it, at least after big wins. If the band doesn't play it the student section will sing it A cappella. It's going to happen and I mean I have fun doing it. I realize its not the classiest or most mature thing to do but seriously we're college students what do you expect?

If the student start it then there is nothing you can do...You cant really ban it...They will do it regardless...Which i dont have a problem with. A win is a win.

I've been reading the boards for ages and never posted. Couldn't stay away from this one.

I am pro-Rammer Jammer. With that said, I do not think we should yell it before a game or after a win against the crappy teams on our schedule. It is a given that we are GONNA beat the hell out of them and that we JUST beat the hell out of them - we are Alabama.

But...for the SEC games and big games. Come on, people. There is NO BETTER FEELING ON EARTH. I was a student at the '99 SEC championship and yelled the cheer until I was hoarse. That is the feeling of WINNING! And what is wrong with reminding a team that we just beat the crap out of them when they did nothing but talk TRASH about killing us before the game ever started! Look at the LSU boards! They are not only threatening a loss on 11/3/07...they are threatening bodily harm to fans and Saban! No matter what cheer we do before or after a game, we can't even come close to reaching a level of classlessness as that. You better believe I will be cheering Rammer Jammer from the top of my lungs on my couch at home with my shaker in hand... it's the least we can do.

There is not a person in that stadium not cheering. Not one person. There are GRANDMOTHERS yelling that cheer. Do you know why? Because THIS IS ALABAMA FOOTBALL! WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY! And there is nothing better than the feeling that we just PROVED it to the world.

Guess you hadn't had a chance to do your little cheer against lsu in say what----the last five years? it might sound kind of catchy in tuscaloosa, but its tuscaloosa. My advice is never do that cheer in BATON ROUGE IN TIGER STADIUM.................................FEAR THE TIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Like the cheer goes "AROUND THE BOWL AND DOWN THE HOLE..........GET OVER IT...................

zydecoking - we have been doing the cheer as is since 1980. We beat you in Tiger Stadium at least 10 times since then, so I am most sure that we have Rammer Jammered you plenty of times at home. And yes, we will be more than happy to do it again in 2008.

I know I am a late contributor to this discussion, but I don't think it should be played after beating a crap team, or even when the victory is by less than a TD.

I love the cheer, but it must be applied to the right situations.
