Pu-a-lease, guys!!! It's a CHEER!! We used to do it BEFORE the games..(we're GONNA beat the hell out of you). It's there, the fans do it regardless of what the administration says, legend says it's been banned before but it keeps comming back, so maybe it's here to stay.....and, gosh,it's FUN!!

I have never liked it. I think it's in very poor taste.

To answer the original question...no. However, I agree with Bingo. When I was in school during the Perkins to Curry transition, we went from Rammer Jammer before the game (which was tremendously intimidating to opposing teams and fans as several fans of other schools have told me) to a total ban to some sort of cockeyed formula where if we were up by x number of points with x number of minutes left in the game, the band could strike up the cheer. It was always before the end of the game never after. "gonna" not "just". The whole purpose of the cheer has changed now from firing up the team and intimidating the opponents to now it's just rubbing the opponents nose in it.

You're right, Bamaalumn! It was intimadating and hopefully will be again, once again, for the bizillionth time---IT'S JUST A CHEER!!! and a pretty darn good one. Evidently everyone remembers it.

I don't know when this cheer was started but to me its tradition. I remember being 5 or 6 at legion feild and the only "Bad Word" I was allowed to say was Hell in Ramma Jamma. It should definately stay.

Just do what I do on those W's that really don't deserve the cheer, leave out the hell and sigh with relief.

Amen, GAtider....when I asked my mother if I could say hell(butt was considered a spanking offense word in our house) she said "...only during that cheer" (paraphrased for anyone who might have been sitting around us in 1977 and might flame me for incorrect quoting and no links.........)

I can't vote on the poll as it's worded. I think it's a great cheer but imho it should be used before or during the game.

I like the cheer and as someone already stated, banning it doesn't work. Fans will do it regardless of whether the band plays it. In fact, my sister was an Athletic Hostess during the 90's (when it was banned) and an older alum brought his trombone from when he played in the Million Dollar Band and played it in the Sky Box.
