Joyfully singing the "Rammer Jammer" cheer after defeating the likes of Western Carolina and Utah State, and after come-from-behind wins against teams such as Duke, have been sad trademarks of the New Bama Tradition.
For example, FIU is an 0-7 team that will have 10 starters out and 18 out total. If we win this game, isn't it really low for fans to chant how "we just beat the hell out of" them?
After defeating any pathetic opponent, such as FIU or Western Carolina, should any Tide fan be gleefully bragging "we just beat the hell out of you!"? Is this what the New Bama Tradition has become?

Exactly, it's the students, and I was down there with them before, and it won't be stopped. Just like after announcing the other team's players, our student section chants: "SUCKS", it's just the kids. Except for last year's games... ohhh the memories...

when we beat the viles 6-3 last year barley won but said it loud. If we beat aubarn by any amount this year it'll be said even louder. It's just part of it.

we should always have it, but when we played it against vandy, i was severly dissappointed. the only time i can remember us not playing it was in starkville a couple of years ago when we beat them 36-0.

No! I didn't like it in the 70's & 80's, and I don't like it now. It is poor sportsmanship to taunt an opponent (especially a losing opponent). It's a "degree" of the poor sportmanship that we all love to hate about Miami. I hear a lot of claims of "class" in this forum. We should actually practice that class, or it'll be considered braggadocio. We should act like we've "been there before."
I suppose the band and students REALLY haven't been "there" before. But, they should still act like it! Taunting Duke, Vandy, and Mississippi teams is extremely embarrassing. On the contrary, we should "appear" to be embarrassed to have beaten them so badly. Mercy, have times changed.
I am a current student and I don't boo the lesser teams. I actually clapped when Duke came out at halftime, they came to play. I agree we shouldnt go rammer jammer against lesser teams but come on, Dr. Witt won't let us do it in pregame anymore. No Rammer Jammer, just the big gay Bama Spellout. Yeah thats a great one. Gotta say we have the dumbest pregame in the SEC, or at least its down there.
Wow- this is worse than the debates I hear on CNN! It isn't like we're bombing inocent fans or something, its the Rammer Jammer for Christ sake! We are Classy, among the top... but, when the Tide rolls over an opponent, regardless of the score or the opponents rank, Tide fans should celebrate and have every right to! They won so...
Actually, your right I guess. How about we throw our shakers away too. Thats classless to shake those things while opposing fans are around! I guess they should dim the lights during the games and start serving more popcorn!! Please turn off your cell phone and be quite!
