It's kind of weird watching commercials for Tuscaloosa Toyota in Naples, FL.

Another game thrown away by Shula. Should have been a Win.

Was at the game that day..Just wanted to actually puke on the way down from our seats...Team really laid it on the line that day I thought. Could feel the disappointment from the guys on the field all the way up in the upper deck whwere I was...Team never was the same after that rest of the season..
-------------------------------When you shoot for gold you will usually miss but if you settle for bronze you are simply scared. Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. Bama: 8+ make it 9+ wins no 10+ err 11+ ok 12+ wins in 08 |

3-3 just before half and Shula kicked the field goal from the 1 yard line. Same year in the Auburn game, after 3 straight runs up the gut (Surprise) Auburn pointed at our coaches saying bring it on. Shula kicks the field goal, I knew then the game was over.

Did you also know that the 1996 Alabama - Ucheat game at Neyland Stadium game was over at the point which Ralph Staten nearly decapitated Peyton Manning and forced him to fumble at Ucheat's own 4 yd. line (of which afterwards Gene Stallings ran 3 straight plays up the middle and didn't score??).. Did you?.. |

Did you ever see the players from an opposing team pointing at Gene Stallings, telling him to bring it on or players begging him to go for it and then send in the kicking unit. Please don't compare Shula to Stallings!

Yes I did and it was about that same time that I started having visions of a future NFL hall of fame running back by the name of Jimmy Johns. Note: This is likely to be confusing to everyone but Dixie. |

I knew it was over for tennessee. Different coach, different players. Stallings was mean as a snake and so were his players. Shula was soft as a baby's bottom and so were his players. |

You might want to check central casting for 'The Longest Yard 2' then, 'cause that's about as close as he's ever gonna' get! |

At that particular point, it wasn't quite over for Tennessee...at least not until Jay Graham took a handoff up the middle and broke away for a 75 yd. TD run right through the middle of the Alabama defense for the winning score..
Irrelevant.. The team with the better collection of players usually wins the game (whether Coach X's players are 'soft' or not)..not always, but an overwhelming majority of the time.. That goes for every coach whether its Shula, Stallings, or Bryant. |

UH wrong, Stallings had a hard running team, it was his signature he tried to be unpredictable because frankly no one expected 3 STRAIGHT....Gene's offenses were better then that....and if he had got closer on 4th down he would have gone for it... |
