No, I did not graduate from Alabama. Nor was I born in the State of Alabama. But I have been a Bama fan since before most of you were born. So if I followed Broctune's logic, you are all Johnny come latelys to me.
Broctune, I used to think you were a pretty cool guy from reading your posts over the past couple years. But from the posts you have made over the last couple weeks, I have lost a lot of respect for you. |

Junior![]() Lifelong, diehard fan ... graduated elsewhere |
I did not ... but only because family circumstances placed in in another state where in-state tuition was the difference. I have been a life-long fan of Bama (I first remember the '71 season) and have pulled for them against my alma mater. I have had season tickets for the last three seasons and have been at all of the home games. If that means I am not welcome here, I'll gladly bow out ... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 11 down, 3 to go ... enjoin' the ride ... one game at a time! |

You guys are giving broctune too much credit. He's just being a sarcastic a**. I feel your pain, brother. I was faced with the exact same problem. Did 2 years at Tennessee-Chattanooga (Mechanical Engineering), then joined the Navy when the money ran out and I couldn't get a scholarship. |

I graduated from Bama in the (ahem) late '70s...but my parents shelled out most of the money.
I don't think it matters whether you graduated from there or not to be a fan. Many people in the state were unable to afford college, and every taxpayer in Alabama has a huge stake in the university. "Do something positive to support the program or don't do anything at all." — Nick Saban |

This is not about that (for me). This is about people that didn't calling people that did Auburn or Tennessee fans. Unlimited potential in 2008 and beyond. Attended 2 yrs (83 - 85), dropped out to join the Air Force. Would love to have finished through Bama, but they still don't offer a very good selection of degrees via distance education. Either way, I live for Saturdays and visit BDS every chance I get. Roll Tide!!!

I am proud to be a Bama graduate. Not that it gives me any special insight as a football fan.

I am willing to bet losses do not affect broctune as badly as they do you. Not sure what that guy's problem is with non-grad fans but it's truly ignorant. ----------------------------------------------- "No. 1 is to be physical and make sure that the team you're playing knows that they better bring their lunch because we're going to come after you on every play, the idea is when we hit the field, we're here and you're in for a long day. Been a member for a while but never post but this post offended me. Born an Alabama fan. I live in Georgia now so I got my Degree and Graduate Degree in Georgia. All three of my brothers played at Alabama in the late 70’s. I meet Coach Bryant on several occasions had my picture taken with him at age 11. Two of my brothers had career ending knee injuries and the third had over 300 yards rushing and scored 3 touchdowns while backing up Steve Whitman in 1979. He also was the leading rusher with 87 yards against Vanderbilt. I go to A club meetings regularly. I’m 44 years old and consider myself an old time Alabama fan. Broctune I don’t need to be “OK in your book”.
