He's also left handed in a world of right handed people. Just another day in the struggle, ya know.

With TV people, if there is a story that is obvious and in their face, they are going to cover THAT story 99 times out of 100 rather than digging for a more interesting one. It's easier and quicker to do the obvious story, especially when you're popping in and out of a different college town each week. I'm not saying that there aren't good stories from black players. I'm merely saying that I don't think race has anything to do with this particular case. It has more to do with the deadlines of the TV business and the inherent laziness of reporters. Since I used to be a reporter and was later an editor, I know quite a bit about laziness among journalists. Smiler

Seriously, I'm not arguing that they're making the best coverage decision. I'm just arguing that it's not a racial issue in this case.

Keep the faith in church? Wow...Seriously? It wouldn't bother me at all for a non-Christian to say this but you said that you're a Christian and it's certainly not my place to judge whether you are or not....I guess my question is; have you ever read the Bible? I'm not trying to be condescending; I'm just asking because the idea of keeping your faith in church is not scriptural in the least....and it's definitely not what Jesus taught....actually the whole idea of the church being a place is not what the Bible teaches.....Understand that I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion about this, nor am I trying to convince anyone that the Bible is God's word (although we can talk about that if you so desire)....but please know that your opinion is in opposition to what the Bible teaches....I also know that this is not the correct forum to be discussing this and it may very well be deleted....but I just can't let that go.

I love open forums. You just have to realize that giving a voice to everyone also unsurprisingly gives a voice to fools; as well as people who appeal to ignorance by sounding like geniuses while communicating blatant nonsense.

Several reasons...he's a douche; it's fun; it irritates people who like him; he's a hypocrite; he just ain't right. He will be a huge flop in the NFL.

OK, I've lost interest in this so I say this and quit.....Do you think there are deeply religious black players on the UF team? Sure there are. Do they get fawning SI stories or butterfly kisses from Urban Meyer? No. Maybe it's because of ability. Maybe race. You decide. I've lost interest. But there have been a lot of great players--black and white--and I do not recall ANY getting the unchecked worship Tebow has gotten.

All I'm sayin'. (And this time I mean it.) Wink

Well, you made a pretty serious charge -- that the issue was racial. I'm offering what I think is a very reasonable explanation for why race is NOT the issue. I'm dealing with the issue that you're offering, but you're not responding to my alternative explanation. I don't mind if you don't want to take the issue any further. I'm just pointing out that you're ignoring the argument that I'm making -- that there are factors other than race that explain the coverage decisions. But if you don't want to take it any further, that's fine with me.

Tebow is a great player. I wish he had signed with Alabama. That being said, I will be glad to see him gone from UF.

...mostly just the overacting, the constant screaming, etc. It's hard to believe that players buy into that kind of rah rah bs. He is still a great player though.

Verne, forgive me if I am confusing you with someone else, but aren't you one of those "nobody who doesn't stand and scream as loud as possible for the entire game should be allowed in BDS" guys? If so, why do you think an 80 year old with limited mobility should scream about the game and one of the game's most involved and passionate players shouldn't?

Jealousy
