Source says Shula will return
Mike Shula will return as Alabama’s football coach in 2007, but there will be changes within the football program, possibly including Shula’s staff, a knowledgeable source said Tuesday.
High ranking university officials have no intention of making a change with the head coach, according to the source who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The school has not made a formal statement regarding Shula’s employment since Saturday’s 22-15 loss to Auburn.
Shula is 26-23 in four seasons at Alabama.

Take into account that this is from an anonymous source. The Huntsville Times reporter obviously believes it and it would be hard to argue since he put it on the website, but the same can be said for the Bama Online bulletin last night that said he would be fired according to anonymous sources. I'll believe it when a UA official makes an official statement.

It sounds credible to me, because the reports all day long have been in relation to yesterday's misinformation and a possible change of heart.

how is it that ordinary people like you have sources that tell about someones future before the media to put on forums on a website. i've been watching tv and listening to the radio and the've all said that nothings happening. they won't even hint that they heard anything. oh but you heard it first on a forum on tidesports.com. wow people!!!!

p.s. i saw the article and it says a source. what source. witt is going on vacation. i'll believe it when they come out in an interview where i know for sure what's happening. that way i won't get my hopes up!

Bama King, you are right. The reason is they know they could not get a coach like all the name droppers want.

Mack Brown
Tubberville
Stallings
Ditka
Jimmy Johnson

I'm with RADYG1, the best they can do now is a Rick Stockstill, David Cutcliff or Jeff Bower at Southern Miss or Sylvester Croom. Bower would not come to Bama - he has loyalty to Souther. Cutcliff and Croom have ignored before, they are more than likely a little PISSED.

Well, they definitely had an all-star line-up. Now, I never said that I would never want any of these coaches for Bama. My take is that I just don't believe that this is the right move at this time.

That said, I still won't believe either that he is gonna stay or go until I hear it officially from the university's powers that be.

If this true, it shows that the admininstration cares nothing about the wishes of the fans or the alumni. We might as well just pin our hopes on the Basketball program,and be pleased with an occasional bowl trip to Shreveport every few years. I guess we might as well surrender leadership in football to Auburn if this is true,because the administration sure has.
