"The only question about Saban is, will he be around long enough to see the fruits of his labor fulfilled before he packs his bags and moves to the next big-time job?"

UA Graduate (Year): I graduated from UAB. I wanted to go to Alabama but UAB had more to offer in a science research field. Still wish that had chosen to go to Alabama.

What job is bigger than Alabama? I would like for someone that is not a BAMA fan to try and enlighten me about a job that is bigger than being in Tuscaloosa, with respect to football.

There is no bigger job!!

How about these:
Ohio State
Southern Cal
Notre Dame
Florida
Michigan
Texas
Oklahoma
Georgia
Tennessee

Remember now, this is 2008, not 30 years ago.

Ohio St, USC, Notre Dame and Michigan are the only schools that compare to Bama from that list. The "remember this is 2008" statement is irrelevant, because the recruiting base, facilities, and money is there now more than it ever has been....perfect recipe for an elite coach.

I think if Leslie ever leaves LSU, Nick Saban will go back. When everyone thought he was going to Michigan, Nick Saban had already bought his old house in Baton Rouge. He's even said he regretted leaving LSU. Saban called them before he came to Alabama to see if there was any way he could go back. For some reason they loved Baton Rouge, and his wife has said that repeatedly.

exactly.

someone please tell me how many times a coach has left one school to go somewhere else and later returned to coach that school again? I'm talking head coach both times? If you can tell me how many times that happened, then I expect you can name that coach and school. I know of exactly 1 since I've been old enough to watch football and that was Johnny Majors coaching at pitt, going to ut and then back to pitt.

Are you talking about bigger job as in "hardest job" or best job. Just wondering

Alabama is one of the "bigger jobs" in college football due to the following reasons, (In no particular order)

Fanbase
Money
Facilities
Visability
Potential
Recruiting
Tradition
Conference
Geographic location (climate, cost of living, ect)
Challenge (overcomming probation damage, working out from under shadow of Bear Bryant)

A job's difficulty has nothing to do with how good of a job it is, only a lazy person would consider difficulty.
