From the article?

Is Ricky Sapp that good, or are Clemson's offensive tackles that bad?

Coach Tommy Bowden is eager to know, and he's sure hoping it's closer to the former than the latter.

On this team, offensive tackles Chris Hairston and Cory Lambert haven't put up much resistance.

Sounds like we should load up over them and go at the QB hard...

Exactly! How do you have a dominating preseason when you don't play anyone? I mean basically we could claim several of our players have been dominating the preseason... we won't know anything until they take the field.

I hope Hardy for Ole Miss is still out with injury when we play them, or we'll REALLY find out how good our right tackle is. Frowner

I hear you, man, and I agree. But even if Hardy is back by that time, it's doubtful he'll be 100% and in good football shape after missing 6-8 weeks. Maybe we won't see his best this year.

I agree with you. That guy killed us last year. He gave us more trouble last year than anyone else we played. I was excited to see how Auburn would handle him the week or so after we played them, but he got suspended for the Auburn game. Ain't it funny how Auburn always gets lucky like that.

Great player for the Rebels though. I hope he comes back strong, but maybe he will make it back just after we play them. Wink

12-2.....I would have taken it at the beginning of the year, but it sux now!!!!!

Of course sapp looks like a dominant player - he's going against a crappy o-line everyday, who wouldn't look good? This kid only had a few sacks last year and at only 240lbs he's a liability against the run.

Now that clemons lost another DT they should be soft against the run, the guy replacing him is a converted DE that only goes about 270 and has a broken hand. Factor in their green linebackers, who are also lightweights, and I can see Bama really pounding the ball right at them. In fact, barring a breakout run by one of climppsons backs, it's realistic to think you can outrush these guys.

What kind of odds could you get on a bet that Bama out rushes Klimpson?

Just line Tyler Love and Big Andre up side by side against Sapp, one really good double team from them, and we won't have to worry about him the rest of the game. Sapp's head will be on a swivel looking for those 2 the rest of the night.
And before the flaming starts, I'm not saying take a cheap shot, just knock the #$%@^#$% out of him, legal, but very hard, and do it on the 1st 2 plays of the game and set the tone for the rest of the night!!!!

I know we have been harping on JPW, but it is also time for the OL to dominate the run game. We have some backs that can scoot but they need a little assistance getting through the line of scrimmage. We need more traps, draws, and sceens to help the offense. Anyone see us run a tightend screen? I was begging for Shula to run a few when Brodie was getting killed in the auburn game. Nothing was done to slow the pass rush.

He is up to 280 now, but at 6'7 he still looks lean and is still quick. He had starts at tackle last year and did well. One of the guys behind him started 10 games in 2006. We rotate three sets of DL to keep them fresh and there is little difference between the three.
