WTF is wrong with our fans??? This whole deal seems to be turning into a circus! I’m a loyal fan but am embarrassed at what SEEMS to be our identity now. This program was build on Class, which is what I’m most proud of, but I’m sad to say that I’m afraid were loosing that. We’ve always had high expectations, but damn!
Here’s what we’ve got: (A Very Bright Future) • We’re off probation! • The best football coach in the country (THIS IS HIS FIRST YEAR PEOPLE!) • Perhaps the best coaching staff in the country (THIS IS THEIR FIRST YEAR PEOPLE!) • The best recruiting class I’ve ever seen here is underway (LET’S LET THEM GET HERE!) • A team that’s been through hell throughout the years but obviously believes in something because they won’t quit -- KNOWING they weren’t supposed to be “great” this year (AS ANYBODY WHO UNDERSTANDS THE GAME OF FOOTBALL HAS SAID OVER & OVER) • Were going to complete our stadium expansion! Here’s how many of our fans have “seemed” to be reacting to what we have. If this is just something media has created, and I reeaaallly hope it is, then I’m sorry but this is how we are perceived: • Nick Saban is the Messiah!!! I’m gonna wear “Got Saban” t-shirts everyday!, I’m gonna compare Saban to Coach Bryant everyday!, I’m gonna name my newborn “Saban” – AND I’LL DO ALL THIS BEFORE HE COACHES ONE FREEKEN GAME FOR ALABAMA!!!! • Even though my coach is the new Messiah, I will still tell people what he does wrong and what I would have done…. Hell, I’ll just give him, or someone with the program, a call at his home!!! And let him know how I feel besides I played high-school football -- I know freaken everything! • Our coaching genius better go 9-0 this year. I expect to win the National Championship next year… I don’t know how, I just do. • In front of a national audience, I’m gonna boo our new savior & team when he makes a decision I can’t comprehend because I’m simply a classless idiot! • I’m gonna pay a lot of money for some tickets, talk sh*t all day about how my team is the best and how they don’t quit… Nevertheless, I’ll leave the game early because I don’t think they can pull out the win. (At least I’m not a quitter) • I love to wear jorts, giant white tennis shoes, a hounds-tooth hat and a jearsy that’s 5 times too big on me that says Saban on the back. My kid will be wearing the VERY same thing --- (that looks cool you know.) • I’m going to through a cup bourbon at a visiting team, that played better than my team, because I am either trying to impress my intoxicated girlfriend or because I’m pissed that I ran out of substance, which I buy with my daddy’s money. • I’m going too hold up a giant picture of MYSELF, of all things, at gameday!!!! By the way I’m ugly as p*ss and have a partial mullet (couldn’t quit cold turkey – Roll Tide Buddy!) • I’m gonna call Paul Finebaum and show the world that I can sound just as stupid as those Tennessee fans who can’t make it to their game because the creek is up. (By the way, who was the mountain looking kid with a fiddle on Game Day??? Where the hell did he come from???) >>>>>>-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------> “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing” ~ Edmund Burke >>>>>>---------------------------------------------------------> "That government is best, which governs least." ~ Thomas Jefferson >>>>>>--------------------------------------------------------> “I will never change my avatar” ~ Magnum P.I. This program is heading in a very, very positive direction. I think most of the fanbase realizes that. Unfortunately, we hear alot out of those that cannot see this.

Just like it takes years and years to define one's class, it would also take years to take that away.
I will not wish a cysty sack on anyone again, well maybe. |

I really hope it's just a situation where the stupidest people are the loudest.
I think we sane fans need to start doing our part to drown out the noise of those idiots. ______________________________ Link "I don’t read books, but if I read books, it would be like reading a book...” -- Les Miles |

You like calling people stupid, don't you? Maybe you've got some delusions of grandeur or something, but you're being very rude. |

I don't mind calling stupid people "stupid". It's the same as calling a car "a car". I don't take particular joy in it. I'd rather we weren't having to discuss this. It's really disappointing how immature much of our fan base is. ______________________________ Link "I don’t read books, but if I read books, it would be like reading a book...” -- Les Miles |

I have been attending Alabama games since the early 1970's and it does seem that there has been a definite "dumbing down" of the fan base in recent years. We love to talk about "class" but can we really define it in terms of how our actions are perceived - whether it is booing a coaching decision to kick a field goal with over 4 1/2 minutes remaining in a game or showering an opposing team with plastic cups and whiskey bottles for "taunting" the fans by having the audacity to make a game winning catch or calling an assistant coach in the middle of the night or trashing the most beautiful spot on campus on a gameday Saturday. These are only a few examples from our two most recent games. Grow up people and start "Being a Champion" in everything you do! |

I expect that from Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, etc… Why would we lower ourselves to their level when it there "classlessness" that makes them so dam disgraceful. Simply this: There is a Right way and there is Wrong way. Because someone else is Classless (which I expect) doesn’t mean that we should be. >>>>>>-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------> “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing” ~ Edmund Burke >>>>>>---------------------------------------------------------> "That government is best, which governs least." ~ Thomas Jefferson >>>>>>--------------------------------------------------------> “I will never change my avatar” ~ Magnum P.I. I'll add that part of that Class is evident in how we treat each other as fans as well. Our fan base seems to cannibalize itself from time to time. Much like we're doing now with the back and forth over the issues of throwing items on the field, booing the opposing team, booing a coaching decision, etc.
I admit that last year, after the Iron Bowl, I didn't want to see, hear from, or speak to another Alabama fan for a long, long time. Why? Alabama fans are awful - to each other. Another Alabama fan actually told me and my husband that he hoped we died in a fiery car crash on the way home from the game - and all because I made the statement that it was a good game, even though I hated losing. And that's just sad. The fans were one of the reasons I fell in love with Alabama football at an early age. When fans start attacking each other, both verbally on message boards and physically in the stands, the whole package suffers. Fans are an important part of any football program, whether we like it or not. And fan behavior affects everyone, from other fans all the way to the team. The issue of Class starts at home. Treat your own with respect, and it builds from there. Until we can do that, the situation won't improve much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Women's Full Contact Football: TN Valley Tigers Help BamaBlitz, Tanda, and Brett!
