I propose a high noon protest march Wednesday not to start any problems but just to let shula and MM and the rest of the uppity ups in the bama nation know that there is unrest among the natives.
Here is the plan.
Gather between 11:45 and noon on the quad @ Denny Chimes. At the stroke of noon we start marching silently toward the stadium. Then past the stadium down the strip till we get to a good place to stop and eat and or get a beer and have a live discussion.
This is NOT an event designed to show our anusses and scream and yell but just a silent reiminder that we the bama nation are getting very tired of the way things are done. This is NOT I repeat NOT a fire shula rally. Maybe if he knows we support his opening up the offensive armament stockpile he will get the ability to do it. Maybe just maybe we can convince to do something anything and salvage this lackluster season. Feel free to copy and pass this thread on till we have gotten the word out and can get enough people who care to show up to let them see with their own eyes that this aint the way things work with Alabama Football. Plan on being there and bring as many friends and fellow fans as you can. Fraternities, sororities campus groups you are needed to be there pass this word on it is your university, it is your football team. Everybody come.

Well judging from everyones response here all you are willing to do is post bitchy messages on a forum.
I guess no one else really cares.

Guys, I believe everyone has their heart in the right place, we as a whole are not happy with the way the season is unfolding. However, isn't it just a stretch to do something of this nature? I believe that cms is doing what he feels is best for the team, for real, think just a sec, consider everything a hc has to and then decide if what your alternative solution to the problem will, in reality fix any or all of the problems.

Then again, I wouldn't want others trying to tell me how to do my job either.

Roll Tide!

If you're gonna go, go all the way, if you're gonna stay, stand your ground, if you can't run with the big dogs, big dog let me walk you out, if you can't lead let me by you, if you won't follow get out of the way, you're taking up space. "Van Zant"

Just wait until St. Patrick's Day and you can kill two birds with one stone by combining it with your Gay Pride Rally.

Ms Tider, the reality is - no matter what you say or how many facts you utilize the moaners, groaners, and complainers will never change their minds. Why bother? All we can do is support our Tide through these tough times.

God, please tell me that the student body hasn't really sunk to the point that it's more important to organize a protest march at Denny Chimes over the state of the football program than over the war crimes (or a half-dozen other offenses) of the Bush Administration. The day a march to the athletic offices takes precedence over a march to stop the slaughter in Iraq is the day my sheepskin comes off the wall. I'm gonna pray this is the voice of one idiot crying in the wilderness and let it go.

LOL. Football is way more important than promoting your liberal agenda.

I loooooove the way the appologist have taken the time to paint me as (1) a Tennessee fan: if I were a tennesseee fan I would be keeping my mouth shut and hoping shula never changed and never went anywhere.
(2) Gay: I disagree with shula and want to have a protest and get together with like minded individuals and eat ,discuss and drink so I'm gay. Sorry but yall all sound kinda sweet in your shoes the way you defend and gush over him.
(3) Protest this instead of protesting the war in Iraq. I'm protesting everything the bu$h administration and its NAMBLA loving cronies have done to America by working to get as many of them defeated as humanly possible. BTW I do not consider myself anti-republican I'm just pro-American and pro-military (they deserve to not be lied to and sent into wars over a bunch of lies) I did two hitches in this mans Army not because I needed the job but because I felt as a citizen I owed something to my country.

BUT Wednesday is all about the Tide. First round is on me. Anybody got any idea where is a good place for a beer and a sandwich on the strip @ lunchtime?

CrimsonCommando, go for it. I live in NC otherwise I would go. I am so happy that Cecil Hurt had the guts to say what he said today. It is sad that these "totally blind" doofus head shula fans keep hoping and being happy with edge of yoour pants losses and victories instead of offensive genieus football. Let them drink the kool aid. I LOVE ALABAMA FOOTBALL and am not happy with the state of things the last three years at all. Shula better get a real OC or put on his walking shoes. And this is from a Army Veteran of the gulf war 6' 231 lbs who will be glad to look anyone in the eye and tell them what I think.

NOW it makes sense! The Apologists are really barners and viles in disguise.

Who else would get upset when we talk about possibly getting rid of Shula?

There is no way I would be part of instigating a problem for this team. This team has had some heartbreaking defeats, and I refuse to add to the problems by not supporting the team and coaching staff. Call it excuses if you want, but our undermanned team has performed very well under the circustances. So if you want to start a new set of problems as we emerge from the last several years of trials and tribulations go right ahead. If you think this will be an asset to the program, knock your lights out. If you think this will help recruiting go march. I will remain loyal to the team and to a coach who took over a program in a horrible situation and has helped right the direction.

tmasson2 give me a BREAK man! wake up and smell the coffee. We are not freakin undermanned!!!!!
We have as much talent as most SEC teams, easily as much as UT, AK, Miss, FlA, yes maybe LSU and Auburn might have a few more, but there isn't that wide of a gap. Quit looking for ways to excuse Shula and his impotent offense.

Right, I forgot. There was no probation or loss of scholarships. Ho could I forget the NCAA completely exonerated BAMA with no penalties. That's why Fran stayed the locker was so full.

Talent yes, experience no. I hate excuses as much as anyone but think about it. For two years 2002-2003 we recruited I think 3 Olinemen...of those we got Chris Capps and Justin Moon. We are having a hard time because we lack good experience (age included) on the Oline. Most solid teams dont have to worry about that but Shula came in with two seasons of horrible oline recruiting and thats why we have problems right now.Sorry to say this but there is no quick fix for that problem. In two years we will have a much better Oline because we won't be leaning on 2 star nobodies and reshirt sophmores. Mark that down.

As far as Shula's impotent offense goes, two years ago we stood toe to toe with everyone on our schedule including the number 3 team in the nation, all with a third string QB. Last year we beat 10 teams with a patch work Oline. That tells me we're ok, just a rebuilding year.

Dont you all think that it would be more effective to have a march in support of our team and coaches, to let them know that regardless of what happens, we still support them and are behind them 100% ??? I dont see any good coming of having a "protest" march for everyone to see... Would probably make most of the players sick to their stomachs to know that we actually have fans that would do such a thing.
