Here's my list....nobody.

Why is Saban worth $4.5M...the only reason is he won a National Championship with a team from the SEC and somebody thought he might be willing to come back to the college game.

The problem is any other offer we make must be well below that amount. Right out of the gate we are telling a coach you are not respected nearly as much as another coach. We are also telling the fan base we did not get the best coach we could...or another way to say it would be we know there are better coaches than the one we have.

The bigger problem will be the AL fan base. We have no patience...as soon as the new coach struggles...we'll jump him. Why...because it's in our DNA. We can't help it...we are unrealistic and in denial. We should have stayed with Shula. More and more I am regretting the decision to fire Shula. This could be the biggest mistake we have ever made. What a mess...

If it is true, it is desparation, and we have moved the bar in the market way higher than necessary. We better be really clean from here forward, becaust this will make us the target of every school in the country. 4.5 mill to a 6-10 coach. Why do we just keep doing stupid things??

Just being a realist, tubby has a winning record vs saban, while a coached at a school with no recruiting competition. We need new blood. SOmeone for the barners to really fear.

Why is this a desperation move? because we want the best/want to win,to hell with moving the needle on coaching salarys,we are a big dog and if this is what it takes to get back on the winning track all the others can step it up or enjoy the view from the rear. RTR!!!

Its not that Saban won a championship as much as it is the team he done it with. LSU was as low as they could be when Saban got there, maybe even worst that we are. He brought them up to a championship level in record time, and they are still reaping the benifits from his recruiting.

Coaching salaries are going up with or without Bama's help. The Notre Dames, Sooners, and Longhorns of the world will keep shelling out the money and stay on top. If we want to do better than the Independance Bowl we can't sit back and fall behind.

As repeated before, making it to a major bowl on a fairly regular basis (not every year) will pay for the investment and that's exactly what this is, an investment. But, he does have to get us there. This is a business folks.

MONEY,MONEY,MONEY..Is that what it takes to get a coach who wants to coach at Bama? If all Saban is after is money, let him stay at Miami. Any of you who has ever run a business knows you don't won't a key manager whose ONLY objective is CASH..Forget Saban,,,

Anybody that thought we should have kept Shula after the beginning of the 4th quarter vs Duke has no respect from me.

He was given plenty of time. The talent was there this year to do a lot better than the results. Period.

What makes it worse is that he thought he was doing a good job.

People work for money. That is the top priority. After that people like to think they are making a difference and good at what they do.

As you are forgetting about Saban and starting your hire Paul(lets give up a last second field goal and the game)Johnson, why don't you quit your job and go to work for the United Way. Oh by the way make sure it is in the South, since you have never left it.
