Exactly! A great coach produces winners, not excuses. We are being turned into a fanbase that relishes the latter instead of demanding the former.
If Saban is the man he is claimed to be, he will want to be held accountable by a very demanding (almost impossible) standard.
The players may not be the best, but placing the blame to their talent level is a convenient way of assigning it to the prior coaching staff. But no rational person can make the case that our players are worse than the last 2 opponents (they did beat the last one soundly last year).
It's simple: Saban IS responsible and we will only improve if that is the focus.

Every press conference Ive seen, which is all of them, Saban always says he's responsible for getting the team ready and, after the losses, says he didn't do a very good job of that.
I see that dballdredge and port215, with your combined 6 posts, didn't register until after a humiliating loss. Where were you after the Tennessee game when you couldn't find anything to b!tch about. Get on board or get the hell off! Mad

Thoughts for the game...
1) those fortunate enough to have tickets yell as if the National Championship was at stake
2) for the 50,000 plus fans who like to congregate in Tuscaloosa on game day and have no ticket, crowd the streets and surround Jordan Hare Dye stadium Saturday.
3) Gather at one end zone outside the stadium and cheer so loud the players here you on the inside. That ought to let the Aubies know we aren't going away any time soon.
4) ROLL DAMN TIDE

Bama will be fine. I hate the way people target the coach and over analyze just b/c of his big pay ceck. All we can do as fans is hold on for the ride, good or bad. Its the Fans at Alabama that run off the good coaches. Everything would be better if you, the fan, would freekin let up a little. I am the biggest fan but not the nut most of 'em are.

I never mentioned Shula’s name, there were 2 1/2 before him. If you remember in 1969 and 70 the Bama Fans were on Bryant because of down seasons, but he regrouped with the wishbone and made history. The point is Saban will get the players he needs to compete and surpass the rest. What does it matter what he is paid. We gave a joke that never lifted his voice and never showed any enthusiasm four years of salary. The only time his expressions changed was when he looked at the scoreboard.

I'm a Bama fan (my wife went to Bama) and a lifelong Bulldog because I went to MSU. I even lived in Northport for a couple years while I went to school at MSU (got to know HWY82 quite well). So, I'm well versed in the Bama Nation.

It's one thing to be down on Bama for losing to LMU but you can't be down on them for losing to MSU because MSU is NOT the crappy team that they once were. Coach Croom has done a good job of rebuilding that team.

As Saban said last week in his press conference, Bama fans need to stop expecting to win every week just because it's Alabama. You don't go from 0 to 60 instantaneously. You're going to have to EARN the respect of the conference and the nation. And, you only earn respect by winning and playing consistently. You can't talk smack when you win and then dismiss the losses like they don't matter. You've got to take both in stride and learn on both sides of the game.

To me, Bama has only had ONE "bad" week in the past month. LSU is eating everyone alive, so that's moot (even though there were at least three bad calls in that game). MSU was an even match and the game went MSU's way. LMU is the only "embarassing" loss here. Let's keep things in perspective, folks.

I don't like Saban saying that the booing at the ULM game contributed to the loss. First, the loss would have happened even without the booing. Second, Alabama's level of play deserved booing. Fans of any team are going to express their displeasure in certain situations.

We won't beat auburn. Looks like another 6-6 record, but this year we probably won't get to go to a bowl game.
