Recall going to Sixers games in the 70's at the Spectrum. Dudes behind us were toking away so much that the whole section had a second hand buzz. Looked for the rent-a-cops. They were all down at the first row, upper level, watching the game. Made the Sixers refund my remaining tickets.

Sorry you missed the good ole days of the NBA. Those were the days when basketball still had dribbling, no walking, and most players could shoot.

I like to have a buzz and maintain it throughout the game. I don't like to get down right drunk. My reasoning is it loosens me up and I'll cheer more. Otherwise I would just sit there and watch.

Several families w/ kids had to get up and leave.

When I encounter this problem, especially when there are children present, I confront the person, and if necessary find security to deal with it. Such a lack of consideration for others shouldn't be tolerated. Neither your grandfather nor mine would have allowed some drunken blowhard to act offensively in public and until we start addressing this kind of nonsense it will only get worse.

If I had been the one with the kids I would have. He was pretty pathetic. His wife had to help him down the stairs. Thats a real man for you there!!

Drinking is fun.......It makes even the dumbest guy in the stands think that he knows everything about the game including what play needs to be called and when the wrong play is called.....

The process is in full swing!!!!! RTR

I have seen a lot of people drunk at games and other public events. Nothing ever good comes from it and typically it is not fun for the people around.

Silly people, don't you realize there is a difference between drinking and getting drunk. Oh well probably not. I will continue to have a few drinks before the game and have a great time.

If it makes you feel better to blame alcohol for Saturday night's "isolated cup-throwing incident" rather than stupid people, go ahead, but you would be wrong.

i don't drink at games anymore (only if i'm at home watching them, and especially if we're not doing well....damn!! i drank a lot the last few years...)

but when i was in school and we played at Legion Field, we used to get these black flakes in our bourbon and whatever drinks....we called them Legion Field Flavor Crystals (don't remember seeing them in our t'town drinks)....just wondering if BDS provides those lovely flavor crystals for adult beverages these days.....

Hey know if we ban all the drunks where will the trustees and other dignitaries sit and hell half the stadium would be empty, then who would we have to compete with auburn and lsu for most nasty drunks. Roll Tide and pass the bottle, there is history in being drunk at games. Anyone remember Shorty White?

I've only been drunk at one game, the Alabama Tulane game in the Superdome in '92. It was less than a month before my 21st birthday and my sister thought it would be "cute" to take me to Pat O's for a hurricane. Not being an experienced drinker, after I finished the first one, I decided I needed another, not realizing that the first one hadn't kicked in yet. Needless to say, I really don't remember much of being at the game. It was a miserable experience.

Roll Tide!
