Totally agree with Saevick. It would be different if someone was here rubbing it in
our faces that LSU(or any other school) was getting some Elite Prospect that Bama never had a chance at anyway. That is not the case. What happens to those schools affects Bama's recruiting, and it often times can mean more to hear about these guys from an outside perspective, than from a homer. They are some of the most respectable posters on here. I understand the Bama loyalties, believe me, but as long as they stay classy, it's great. |

Saevick posts information as it relates to Bama recruiting. More than half of our recruits are also pursued by LSU - so comments about LSU's stance on a recruit that we are after are very relevant to the theme of the thread and most valuable commentary. If you look beyond the avatars, I think you will find nearly all times some highly valuable an appreciated information.
I can appreciate that this is a Bama recruiting board. But, I can also say I am interested in the recruiting of any other school, to the extent of how their recruiting affects Bama. It is in this spirit that saevick and others have become a very welcome addition to this thread. AS |

Saevick's posts are certainly welcome IMO. I enjoy hearing info from Louisiana that we otherwise would not hear. It provides some perspective on a number of recruits for which LSU and Bama are both in the mix.

Has anyone heard of the all time reception leader of AL Nolen Smith? 09 Back of the year as a Jr and I haven't heard anything about UA recruiting him.

Coach Saban was at Hewitt-Trussville HS this week. He 'ran into' Junior running back Noah Wilson in the hall and told him "I want to talk to you next year." Put him on the list.

Andy, have you heard anything on Trett Hardman QB Fairview HS. Fairview HS is in Cullman County. I know some of his family and they have been keeping me updated. Trett went out to San Antonio for the US Army combines at the first of January. He had a bad ankle sprain from a basketball game the weekend before, so he wasn't full speed. But, he got great reviews from the people over it.
Also, the Under Armor people sent him a bunch of tapes and information reguarding there all-star game next year. He has been invited to several 'big time' camps through rivals and scout. He may be someone to watch out for. Is this attention normal for someone who may end up being a 2 or 3 star, or does this mean he could very well be a 4 star or so. Thanks in advance. Maybe a long shot, but an interesting one to follow is Rashod Henry. He was Terry Grant's teammate in high school, and signed with Southern Miss the year after Grant signed with Alabama, but did pro baseball instead. This past fall, he was a freshman football player for Pearl River JUCO in Mississippi.
He's not big, but he is seriously FAST. He had over 500 yards of offense in one game as a high school senior. |

Let me apologize in advance for my embarrassingly miniscule knowledge of the 2010 recruiting class. I basically put this thread up as a placeholder, and I will start giving the board and commentary the love they need after NSD. Things are fast and hectic with the '09 class, and it demands all my board time right now. I promise I'll get p to speed fairly soon, and again apologize for my lack of good information thus far. No need to apologize at all Andy. I thank you for what you do with the recruiting threads. It is my one and only place to find recruiting info. You do an outstanding job with this, and I for one truly appreciate it. Also, thanks to some of the other guys like CR, saevick, scott wiggins, BamaRabbi, etc.....the list could go on for a while. WE must work to dominate our opponents every minute of every day. Fans, coaches, players, band, cheerleaders.....WE are all in this together |

There will be as much talent in this class as the last two (2008 and 2009) and Alabama will again compete for a top 5 ranking. However, more talent will have to be brought in from outside of the state of Alabama than the two previous groups. This will naturally make the recruiting efforts more difficult.
