TOP PROSPECTS WITH OFFERS BY POSITION
QUARTERBACKS, RUNNING BACKS, TIGHT ENDS - (Positions filled, unlikely additional players unless a big name comes into play late.)

WIDE RECEIVERS - (Likely finished, but may take 1 more big name here).
Chris Dunkley (4*,5*,5*), 5'11"/169#/4.4" (UA, #65 R250, #35 S300, #12 E150, Florida leads, but Bama in the hunt.)
Vincent Sanders (4*,4*,3*), 6'3"/182# (#104 R250, #203 S300)
James Wright (4*,3*,3*), 6'2"/195"/4.5"

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN - (Tide will take one or two more out of this group)
James Stone (4*,4*,4*), 6'6"/297#/5.18" (UA, #171 R250, #97 S300, #100 E150, Tide firmly in the mix for Nashville area OT)
Arie Kouandjio (4*,3*,3*), 6'6"/320#/5.2" (#118 R250, Tide a strong possibility for Maryland propsect)
Shon Coleman (4*,3*,3*), 6'7"/285# (AA, #76 R250, AU commit has visited campus and is in the mix.)
Damien Robinson (4*,4*,4*), 6'8#/330# (AA, #170 R250, #64 S300, #108 E150, Teammate of Coleman and Tide frosh Rod Woodson)

DEFENSIVE TACKLES (Most likely done here, but may take one of these prospects) -
Michael Thornton (4*,4*,4*) 6'2"/280#/4.8" (#164 R250, #172 S300, Bama unlikely in long list. More of a rush end than true DT in Saban's 3-4 scheme.)
James Carmon (4*,3*,--), 6'7"/370# (#7 JuCO player in nation per rivals. Bama appears uninterested.)

DEFENSIVE ENDS (Possibly done, but would take any of these prospects) -
Adrian Hubbard (--,3*,4*), 6'7"/227# (UA, #79 E150, Late stud prospect with Bama in final 3.)
William Gholston (4*,5*,4*), 6'7"/250# (UA, #55 R250, #39 S300, #25 E150, Bama looking to flip Mich. State commit.)
Gabe King (4*,4*,4*), 6'6"/253#/4.6" (AA, #29 R250, #300 S300, Cal and Oregon look to be teams to beat, with Bama as dark horse.)
Corey Lemonier (4*,5*,4*), 6'5"/223#/4.8" (UA, #79 R250, #8 S300, #95 E150, No news in a while is bad news for Bama)

LINEBACKERS -
C.J. Mosley (4*,4*,4*), 6'3"/220#/4.5" (AA, #206 R250, #187 S300, #127 E150, UA/Aub battle with Bama having the inside track.)
Christian Jones (4*,4*,4*) 6'4"/220#/4.7" (UA, #44 R250, #129 S300, #27 E150, Bama in decent shape after recent visit.)
Jordan Hicks (5*,5*,5*), 6'2"/220#/4.6" (UA, #12 R250, #24 S300, #2 E150, Bama in the final 5 for this elite LB, but no visit as of yet. Stealing him would be the crown jewel of the class.)
Jeff Luc (4*,5*,5*), 6'1"/240#/4.67" (UA, #25 R250, #6 S300, #6 E150, No news in a while - but Bama still in consideration.)
LaDarius Owens (4*,4*,4*), 6'2"/225#/4.49" (UA, #102 R250, #249 S300, #131 E150, Bama with a very outside chance to sway Auburn commit.)

DEFENSIVE BACKS -
John Fulton (4*,4*,4*), 6'1"/180#/4.4" (UA, #61 R250, #73 S300, #42 E150, Bama one of 3 finalists. Decision 12/17)
Mike Harris (4*,3*,--), 6'0"/185#/4.55" (JuCO propsect was blown away on recent visit and is close to pulling the trigger.)
Ahmad Dixon (4*,5*,4*), 6'1"/194#/4.5" (AA, #97 R250, #27 S300, #15 E150, Baylor soft commit will visit soon. Highly valued safety.)
Lamarcus Joyner (5*,5*,5*), 5'8"/166#/4.53" (UA, #14 R250, #22 S300, #5 E150, #1 CB in nation by many - would be a major coup for Bama.)
Jonathan McKnight (3*,3*,--), 6'0"/170#/4.55" (Likely out of room with other higher names still in play.)
Dequan Menzie (4*,4*,--), 6'0"/200# (JuCO prospect is leaning elsewhere, but Bama still a remote possibility.)

2009 GREYSHIRTS
These players from the '09 class deferred enrollment to January:
OL - Darius McKeller (3*,3*), 6'6"/280#/5.1"
DE - Anthony Orr (3*,3*), 6'4"/260#/4.8"
LB - Petey Smith (3*,3*), 6'0"/230#/4.6"

tHANKS Andy and CR,
This is from Dandydon.com-
These are from his site and he did the interviews with these LA kids. Enjoy.

quote:
Thursday afternoon I interviewed wide receiver Sheddrick Davis (6'3", 200, 4.6) from Central of Baton Rouge. Davis has a 2.9 GPA and will be taking his ACT in February. Davis is the real deal and will be very highly recruited. The first team class 5-A All-State wide receiver is hearing from schools nationwide including LSU, Alabama, Nebraska, Stanford, Texas A&M and Arizona. Davis would like to take official visits in 2009 to LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, but is not sure about the other two at this time. In the 2008 season, Davis had 61 receptions for 894 yards and 14 touchdowns. Davis is planning on attending Summer camps at Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M. He has been invited to Junior Day at LSU and will attend. Davis has also been invited to Junior Day at Texas A&M, Nebraska and Alabama. Davis' goals are to improve on his time in the 40 and improve his pass routes.

quote:
Friday night I interviewed Jeremy Meyers (QB, 6'2", 200, 4.7). Meyers has a 3.8 GPA and will take the ACT in February. Meyers is going to be very highly recruited and is receiving mail each day from schools such as LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Arkansas and Stanford. Meyers would like to take official visits to LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Clemson and is not sure about the other two. In 2008, Meyers rushed for 850 yards and 13 touchdowns and passed for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns. Meyers has been invited to attend Summer camps at LSU and Alabama and has been invited to Junior Day at LSU, A&M and TCU and will be attending LSU's Junior Day. Meyers will also play safety in 2009, and, according to Coach Eric Head, is a hard-hitting very aggressive player on defense. Meyers is also the team punter with a 39.8-yard average per punt.

quote:
Wednesday I talked to Jarrett Fobbs (WR/RB/S) 6'0", 180, 4.45 from Huntington high school in Shreveport. Fobbs told me that he has a 3.0 GPA and a 17 on his ACT. Fobbs is going to be a very highly recruited player for the 2010 signing class. He made All-District and All-Caddo parish as a junior and rushed for 614 yards on 95 carries and five touchdowns. He also had 22 receptions for 359 yards and five touchdowns. Hobbs also returned 12 kickoffs for 335 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he had 15 tackles, two assists, five interceptions and six pass break-ups. Fobbs is receiving mail from LSU, Alabama, Duke, Ole Miss, Stanford, Auburn and Notre Dame, and would like to visit LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Auburn. He is not certain of what other school he will visit. Hobbs also plays shortstop, second base and pitches for the Huntington baseball team. He hit .345 last season and was 11 for 11 on stolen bases. He has been invited to take part in a Nike Camp this Summer and attended Summer camp at LSU in June of 2008. He has also been invited to attend Junior Day at LSU and will attend.

quote:
Monday afternoon I received a phone call from James Gillum (RB, 5'11", 189, 4.4) from Pearl River high school which is located in ST Tammany parish close to the Louisiana-Mississippi State line. Gillum is going to be a national recruit for the 2010 signing class. Gillum is receiving phone calls and letters from LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, and Florida to name a few schools. The speedy running back told me that he would take official visits to LSU and Alabama and is uncertain about the other three visits. Gillum rushed for over 1,400 yards and scored 20 touchdowns in the 2008 season. Gillum also returns kicks and returned three for touchdowns this past season and set his offense up in great field position after several returns. Gillum will attend a Nike Combine this Spring and will camp at LSU this Summer. Gillum has been invited to attend LSU's Junior Day on January 31 and will attend.

quote:
Last Friday, January 16, I interviewed Churphy Stewart (DT, 6'2", 272, 4.9) from Breaux Bridge. Stewart made All-District, All-Acadiana and first team All-State in 2008 and reminds football fans of former LSU All-American defensive tackles Glenn Dorsey and Booger McFarland. Stewart was not sure of his GPA and has not yet taken his ACT. I was told by a Breaux Bridge assistant coach that Stewart would be very close academically. One coach from an opposing team in district 5-4 A told me that it is almost impossible to block Stewart without double teaming him. In the 2008 season, Stewart was credited with 85 tackles, five quarterback sacks, 15 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, and six forced fumbles. He also recovered two fumbles and had one interception. Stewart told me he is receiving mail from LSU, FSU, Oregon, Northwestern of the Big Ten and several other schools. Stewart would like to take official visits to LSU, Florida, Alabama and Auburn after the 2009 season and will be attending one LSU Summer camp in July. Stewart has been invited to Junior Day at LSU and will attend.

quote:
Later Friday afternoon, I interviewed Pat Swilling (DB, 6'3", 210, 4.55) from Brother Martin high school. Swilling the son of Pat Swilling who played for the New Orleans Saints. Swilling has a 3.2 GPA and will be taking the ACT soon. Swilling also plays basketball and averages 20 points per game. In football, Swilling is hearing from Connecticut, Oklahoma, Florida, Ga Tech, LSU, Georgia and Florida, to name a few. Swilling would like to take official visits to USC, UCONN, Oklahoma and Florida. Swilling did not include LSU when naming schools. Swilling had 15 tackles behinds the line of scrimmage, three interceptions and one forced fumble. In basketball, Swilling is receiving a lot of attention from Florida, Connecticut, LSU, USC, Ga Tech and Tulane. Swilling is not sure at this time what sport he will play in college. His goals for 2009 in football are to win district and state and to improve his game. Swilling has been invited to attend Junior Day at LSU but is not planning on attending at this time.

ALABAMA has offered Swilling per Tigersportsdigest.com

quote:
My first interview was with Eric Reid (S, 6'2" 195, 4.5) from Dutchtown. Reid takes honor classes at Dutchtown, has a 4.7 GPA and made a 21 on the ACT. Reid was not sure how many tackles he made in the 2008 season but did say that he returned five interceptions for touchdowns. Reid, who is going to be one of the most highly-recruited players in the South in 2009, told me that he is receiving mail from LSU, Alabama, Tulane, Stanford, FSU, Georgia, and Texas A&M, to name a few. Reid was not sure what schools he will be visiting after the 2009 regular season, but did say that he would like to visit LSU, Alabama, and FSU. Reid made All-Parish and All-Metro and has plans to attend Summer camps at LSU and Alabama. Reid's goals are to lead his team to the state championships in 2009. Reid has been invited to attend Junior Day at LSU on January 31. Dutchtown defensive backfield coach Chris Carrier told me during the 2008 season that Reid has the talent to be the as good as he wants to be.

Eddy Lacy's good friend.

quote:
My last interview was with defensive end Jordan Allen from West Monroe (6'6", 248, 4.85). Allen was fun to talk to, like all the players I have interviewed so far. Allen has a 3.0 GPA and will take the ACT test in April. It is hard to find great defensive end prospects, but Allen will be one of the nation's best and will be very highly recruited. Allen was a little modest when I asked him the names of schools he was hearing from and schools he might visit after the 2009 season. He did say that he has already been offered by Nebraska and that Coach Les Miles told him he wanted him to be a Tiger. Allen is also receiving mail from UCLA, Michigan, Auburn, Georgia, and La Tech. He said he would like to take visits to Nebraska, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn. In the 2008 season, the big defensive end recorded 68 tackles (10 of which were behind the line of scrimmage), nine sacks, seven blocked passes, three blocked field goals and one blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown. Allen also throws the discuss and shot-put. Allen's goals for the 2009 season are to have more tackles, to make All-State again and to lead his team back to the Super Dome. Allen does plan to attend Summer camp at LSU and has been invited to attend Junior Day.

Arguments as the #1 kid in LA next year. Alabama has contacted him. WE'll see with this guy. I expect Bama to make a push for him as well as Ole Miss. Wait and see.

That's all i have right now. Post more later.

Agree..
He will be LSU's #1 priority next year in the 2010 class eventhough LSU will have 4-5 QBs on scholly. LSU will not let this one get away but will let the Neville QB go out-of-state for Broadway.

You can add Derrick Thomas's son to the list. He could come to Bama on the Bryant Scholly.

Broadway will not go to LSU unless Shepherd is made into a WR. Too many QB's and he has already stated he has Bama in the lead. LSU may not have a choice but to let him go. I say we get him.

Others on my list are Sanders, Robinson, Ambles, C.J. Moseley, Jeremy Richardson, Milliner, Jarrick Williams, and Keenan Allen.

I think we get all those just off the top

CNS was at Spain Park yesterday talking with DT Jeremiah Jackson, FYI.

Eze 20:29:
"Then I said unto them, What [is] the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day."

I started a non-bias thread a couple of weeks ago about Broadway and his coaches interview on LA Football Magazine TV Show.

was watching the LA Football Magazine TV Show last night. It's a local show (BR and Lafayette) with in-studio call-ins and interviews with coaches and players. I haven't seen the show in months- been busy. I watched it last night and one of the segments that will interest Bama recruiting followers was this:

Lee Bercheen is the host and travels around LA talking to players, coaches, and films these kids, sometimes his films are used by rivals, scout, and espn on their sites- for evaluation.
Last night, Terrance Broadway and his coaches from Capitol HS (A Baton Rouge High School) were on the show for some segments- for 30 minutes.

Broadway is a 2010 QB prospect from LA. He has accepted an invitation to the US Army Game for next year. He is in rivals top 150 2010 rankings. He is a 6'-1" versatile QB playing in a spread offense. They discussed their spread offense last night on the show.
The HC of Capitol HS is from LA but played at Tenn. STate. he said one of the coaches at Alabama was on the staff during his playing days.
Also, another Capitol Coach, Terrell McGill, played at LSU during Saban's tenure. By the stories he told, around 1999-2004. What was interesting was- This guy is originally from Miami and discussed how "a prospect's decision on college should not be based on mama and daddy but based on what's best for the kid, no matter of distance. You don't want to go somewhere that was influenced by parents, family, and friends, if it doesn't pan out then sometimes kids blame the family. Go to the school that's best for you."
Something to keep in mind with Broadway's recruitment in the later months.

Lee asked Terrance Broadway who his top 5 was-
LSU AND ALABAMA are his top 2.
Then..
Oregon, Florida, and texas.
Broadway said he went to Bama's 7 on 7 camp this past summer. He liked it over there. When he got back from the camp, he got his Bama scholly. HE said LSU is expected to offer after NSD (FEB.). His coaches have been talking to LSU. Also, says his grades are looking good and he is on the right track for qualifying.
Will take officials sometime in april for "junior days" to LSU, Alabama, and Texas. Right now, that is all he has planneed for officials on "junior days". Will camp at LSU and Alabama this summer, may go to another school. Doesn't know which camp is the third option.
He said he likes FLA and their spread offense. He compared it to his high school's spread offense. This is Very interesting.
Im not sure FLA. is heavy on him. Urban stated he doesn't recruit LA because it's hard to get them away from LSU- kind of like a waste of time. I know for Saban, it's different.

Lee mentioned LA will have 3 top , blue chippers at QB for 2010. One is from NEville HS and the other is from Edna Karr HS. I will research these two and post info. if it pertains to Bama recruiting. Also, Lee said Broadway is the best of the three right now. Predicts Broadway as the top recruit in LA for 2010. Also, Lee stated how Eddie Lacy, Darrington Sentimore (BAMA), and Michael Ford (LSU) SHOULD have been in one of the major all star games. I agree. both are great players. I've seen them play in person and on TV- amazing.

Okay, that is all i have from this show. I will post any new info. i gather from other recruiting gurus out there that may have caught the show last night. If you live in the BR and/or lafayette area, it's on COX 4- Tuesdays at 6:30pm. good recruiting show as well as High School show.

Alright, that's all i have on Broadway. Im out.

That was two weeks ago. What i know right now, he and the coaches are talking about LSU offering and he will get it this weekend at junior day. LSU/Bama are his top 2.
