I was amazed that the entire back stretch section at Daytona last night was empty. That used to be the 2nd hardest ticket in Nascar to get. The hardest, (Bristol night race) is also advertising available seating.

The traditional stick and ball sports have been killed by the escalating salaries. The common fan can't afford to go to an NFL or NBA game anymore. In economic downturns when corporations can't buy entire blocks of seats, they are too expensive for Joe forklift driver to afford, so they sit empty.

With the money these leagues are making off broadcasting rights and licensing sales, it's incredibly greedy and stupid for them to price regular seating like they do.

You make some very good points. It will be interesting to see what happens the rest of this sports' season and next season.

I've tried to go to a couple of Mets' games this year only to find out that all the cheaper seats are sold out but there are tons of expensive seats available.
That all these new stadiums have been designed to increase the amount of high dollar seats: fantastic.
