As this posting shows, you don't know that the Old Tider never means what he says. I'll add a smiley in the future.

Gottfried you obviously don't know what a source is. Maybe he doesn't want to piss his source off, and get no more information in the future, or maybe his source needs to stay anonymous.

Get over yourself, hater.

Everyone --

The Stadium Expansion will be presented to the Board of Trustees in September, the next time that they get together. The Stadium Construction will begin after this season, and will be ready for the 2010 season opening. The drawings have been ready besides a few minor modifications for almost a year.

The real reason that the stadium was postponed last year was that all the construction projects down on the gulf were coming to an end this year, and the University knew that those companies could begin a bidding war for who would give UA the best pricing for this expansion.

and you know this how?

Gottfried --

Guess What...I knew that one of you idiots would not trust me, but why should I care...You can listen to me now, or wait and hear it reported in the Tuscaloosa News in about 2-3 Weeks.

Either way the BOT meets in September and will Approve the project, the pre-work is already beginning, they have started locating the lines.

you don't have to call me an idiot you jackass. I simply asked how you would know this? Do you care to answer the question smartass? and my name is not gottfried, it is gottfriedSucks!

Not a Donkey A Republican...But thanks for trying to Insult me.

Let's just say a little birdy flew by my window, and since I am stone's throw away from the Stadium and know everything little item that is purchased for the University then that would give me some insight on when projects begin.

Hmmm . . . . your birdie and my birdie may know each other. I'm hearing the same except the whole reasoning for them putting it off a year was a bit different, but hey who cares as long as it gets built.

Bamagrove, I guess that mix-use retail and hotel project went through since the last time you and I talked about it.

You mentioned someone screwed up, and the deal probably wasn't going to happen...what happened?

I read in the CrimsonWhite that the company just bought the 1831 foundation building and acquired Stadium apartments last year.
And that this place will have a "large" atrium.

Is this the same project we were talking about, or am I mistaken?

Thanks in advance Bamagrove.

That sounds well and good if they had a way of tracking every student and faculty season tickets that got sold on stub hub or any other site. I've searched many many sites during the summer and can't recall a site that didn't have a student or faculty tickets for sale. My stance is simple, if the students and faculty get reduced rates then they should not be sold another years season tickets if found selling their tickets. If they want to pay the standard rate like everybody else then all bets are off, let them sell the tickets as they wish. jmo

adam,

I was refering to the original 1st set of plans when I said someone messed up. The original plans had the hotel condos being much bigger than what they are now. Although the current set of plans are very impressive, they are not completely "beach front" like the developers wanted at first. This was and is still a big consideration for the developers. Notice the Ttown news article said that Spectrum was still in negotiations with an adjacent apartment complex. More may be coming out of this, ie . . . another phase or addition . . . .
