They're getting a new curtain from UnderArmour I am told. The plan is to use it for both football and in the new BB arena. Wink

Not sure what sealed the deal, but I do know some boosters were involved.

Next year's home games should be very interesting as construction is going to be at full throttle around that area. It is a pain to deal with traffic wise, but construction always creates excitement which always seems to help with recruiting. Smiler

I've seen some official architectural renderings (not the photoshop stuff we've seen online) but from the actual firm, that if that design holds it will be in the neighborhood of 102,000. It is essentially a mirror image of the other side of the endzone with another "Zone" except there won't be a large plaza outside due to space on Bryant Drive and the cemetery. It will be nice believe me! RTR!

Everyone --

The Stadium Expansion will be presented to the Board of Trustees in September, the next time that they get together. The Stadium Construction will begin after this season, and will be ready for the 2010 season opening. The drawings have been ready besides a few minor modifications for almost a year.

The real reason that the stadium was postponed last year was that all the construction projects down on the gulf were coming to an end this year, and the University knew that those companies could begin a bidding war for who would give UA the best pricing for this expansion.

I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage." -- Derrick Thomas

Not bamagorve, but it may have sealed the deal for it. If nothing else, it definately gave them some much needed insurance. Those contracts are going to bring in some serious dough.

I did some quick math, and if you divide the contract amount by 13 (a share for the conference) and again by the years, each school should net in the $11 million per year range. Considering Bama's entire athletic budget is in the $30 million range, to increase that by a third is some pretty serious cash!

Order has been restored to the universe as we know it and Alabama OWNS Auburn 36-0!

That is an average of course, the contracts almost surely don't work that way. I'm sure they start smaller and get larger each year.

Another expansion and a hotel? Shouldn't we move the rest of the campus a few miles away so it won't interfere with the real purpose of UA?

I'm not sure where you got the $30 million for the athletic budget, but Alabama's annual athletic revnue, as reported in July 2007 is $82 mil.

Guess What...I knew that one of you idiots would not trust me, but why should I care...You can listen to me now, or wait and hear it reported in the Tuscaloosa News in about 2-3 Weeks.

Either way the BOT meets in September and will Approve the project, the pre-work is already beginning, they have started locating the lines.

Not a Donkey A Republican...But thanks for trying to Insult me.

Let's just say a little birdy flew by my window, and since I am stone's throw away from the Stadium and know everything little item that is purchased for the University then that would give me some insight on when projects begin.
