I will admitt it. There was an article written in August saying that Notre Dame would start the season 0-8. I thought the guy was on crack, but boy was I ever wrong. Did Notre Dame finally gain positive yards rushing last week?

I remember in the pre-season when one of the talking heads on ESPN said that ND could start the season 0-8 and I was thinking, "Yeah, right". Now it looks like a reality.

Purdue is 4-0 and ranked 25 in USAToday and the next one not ranked in the AP Poll.

Yeah, they'll probably beat down Notre Dame pretty badly.

Yeah, I remember linking a guy's article that speculated on ND opening 0-8 and we laughed. But, the line of 22.5 seems a bit high to me. ND fought hard last week and may make incremental improvements through the year, teams like Purdue always find stupid ways to screw up their seasons anyway.

Weiss should give Phil a call and find out where to get bigger pants. Every time I see ND I'm thinking those puppies are going to blow.

and yet they are still filling their stadium. Tried to get tickets for USC game and the cheapest i have come across are going for $250 a piece in the upper deck.

I never paid a whole lot of attention to Alabama until this year when i had a kid enroll. I know some of the history of Alabama v Notre Dame but I know it from the ND side.

So, as rationally as possible. Why do you all hate ND so much? I mean, when is the last time you even actually played each other?

Now they have another player leaving...

Konrad Reuland is the latest highly touted recruit to leave South Bend
Class of 2006 ESPN 150 Konrad Reuland, a sophomore tight end, has decided to leave the University of Notre Dame.
Irish head coach Charlie Weis said, "After meeting with Konrad Reuland on Sunday, he has decided he will leave the team and withdraw from Notre Dame. I appreciate all Konrad has done for Notre Dame and I wish him nothing but the best."
Konrad's younger brother, Warren, is a Class of 2008 wide receiver prospect committed to play at Stanford.

Most of it stems from as far back as the 1960s when Bama won 2 NC and went undefeated the 3rd year only to be voted behind ND and Mich St. who played to a tie. Read The Missing Ring about the 1966 Bama team. http://www.amazon.com/Missing-Ring-Alabama-Crimson-Footballs/dp/0312336837

Then you have the 1973 and 1974 teams denied NC by ND. In 1977 Bama was ranked 3rd and ND 4th going into the bowls. Bama and ND won and the 1 and 2 teams lost and the media vaulted ND over Bama. ND has cost us at least 4 NC.

Other factors are ND losing and falling 1 spot, getting preferential bowls, undeserved rankings etc.

Look how much focus they get on ESPN and they are the worst team in Division 1-A.

87 was the last time we played, I don't think you see alot of leftover hate from the old days, it's more because they are the prima donna's of the college football world, whether it's their doing or not (mostly their doing).

Football is about hard work, hard work and groin pulls.

My mama taught me to hate ND when I was barely old enough to know what football was (1966). Then ND broke my heart twice in my early teens (December 31, 1973 and January 1, 1975). And I was at Legion Field in November 1980 when ND squashed any hopes for a shot at a 3rd consecutive national championship.

I was happy to be there in 1986 when Alabama registered its first, and to date only, win over ND.

I don't really hate Notre Dame anymore, but I still enjoy seeing them lose. Some habits die hard.
