Here's the ultimate we-they story. When Bama played Fordham University in New York in 1933, both teams in those days supplied an equal number of their own referees. After one particular play, an Alabama player went up to a referee from Alabama and asked where the ball was being placed, and the ref said "On our 48."

The story was passed among the Tide players and is true. My mother was at that game after being selected as a Crimson sponsor for Bama.

I say we who spent 4 years or more in school at Alabama can say we whenever we want.
