ive given my money to the school in one form or another (tuition, licensed apparel, etc). This is what pays the coaches salaries, builds the practice facilities, etc. I AM part of the program although I dont use "we" very often when referring to the team or the program....
I also think that the players sense the excitement and energy generated by fans. it can be worth a couple of points here and there....

This is silly. Everybody contributes in different ways. "We" recognizes that. I say "We built a new house" eventhough me, my wife, or my children never drove a nail, painted, etc. We did however make sure the contractor and workers had what they needed to get the job done.

I've said "We" "Our" "US" my whole life and I'm going to continue saying it. If DD don't like it, I'll continue saying it just to piss him off.
WE WE WE WE WE WE WE WE WE WE WE

I think "WE" will be my official response to DD about anything.

When I played H.S football I hated the term "we" when someone referred to the team. They were not out there doing the hot 2 a days, running hills, 100 up's and downs, fighting for position, getting ankles and knees and jammed fingers taped. It's not right for those that had to go through that.

I'm not out there because I wouldn't like to be. I'm too old, and not good enough (Never was) but I'm out there in spirit. I hurt when they hurt, I celebrate when they celebrate.
I will continue to say "WE".

Thats fair, I just gave my opinion and by no means I was not criticizing anyone what term they should and should not use, After all "we" all agree what team to pull for.

Wayne, you are casting your thoughts among swine. Almost everyone uses the term "we" when referring to "their" favorite team. The MINORITY holding the opposing view are hardly worth your valiant effort.

And kudos to the poster reminding us of, "remember the Rose Bowl WE'LL win then.

At least we are disagreeing on something so trite instead of what caused us to lose the opener because WE DIDN'T!

A lot of Alabama fans say we so where are we in the we factor. The University of Alabama made 35 million dollars clear profit last year because we contribute to the program. Alabama has sold out the stadium for years because we were there. Granted not all of us can contribute massive sums to the program but collectively it all adds up. All this helps the coaches and players have the support to do what they do on and off the field. Often you here people say that you can't be a fan unless you went to the University. I say how does attending classes give a person more of a right to being a fan? Your tuition did not go to the the team. It was however supplemented by the taxes every Alabamian pays to support this public institution.
So that being said "We" beat Clemson soundly and "We" will show ownership in our program in whatever level "We" can contribute. We all hope to continue on with the success of our program.

"we had a house built" is the proper statement.

You obviously just don't understand "we". When I say "We built a house" I mean we built a house, not "We had a house built". I provided funds, the architect provided plans, the workers provided labor, etc. etc. Without all the components there is no house. Checked with an English major and the statement I made is correct. I don't understand how someone with your military background doesn't get "we". That is all I have to say about it, I have to get ready for Saturday. We are going to T-town to watch our team play their team. I hope we win!
