Fellow Bama Fans,

As you may or may not know, we are currently getting hammered by the Texas A&M fans in ESPN's helmet clash.

I have spent the last several hours writing a very simple Windows program that interacts directly with ESPN's website, and submits votes for the Bama helmet as fast as your Internet connection will allow. It is very bare-bones for now. Hopefully, if the program is successful, I might spend some time in the future making it more robust.

Please, if you try it, let me and others know if it works for you. It will require that you have the .NET framework installed on your computer, and, needless to say, it will only work on Windows. Please post any feedback/questions here.

Link to download the program -> http://wikisend.com/download/905618/BamaVoter.exe

If ESPN's website starts going down, please stop the program from running.

Ever since you put this up, the poll has started to move in our favor. You're a true hero and should be hoisted upon my shoulders.

This is great, I will run it all day. Is that my number of votes?

Will this program need to be changed when we are ahead and then it list Alabama back on top? I do not want to be voting for the Ags.

Sorry for the delay guys. I'm not used to being up that late, and I had to get in the bed.

To answer your question, yes when you run the executable, it automatically starts voting. There is no setup necessary.

Yes, it displays the number of votes your computer has cast.

Technically yes. The program could be reverse-engineered and then modified to vote for the Ags. However, a person with the know-how to do that would almost certainly find it easier to write their own program from scratch. It's really not that complex.

No. Bama is represented on the voting page by a unique number. It's position on the page is irrelevent. The program just uses that number to cast the vote.

Thank you, and everyone else who has tried this out. I am happy about the positive response this has received. I believe I will spend some time making the program a little more professional looking.

It's probably not working for you. There should be a counter there that increments every time a vote is cast. Unfortunately I don't have Vista, so I can't compile it for that OS. Frowner
